WeBuyCars only SellLies
As I have received poor service from 3 of their dealerships, it is safe to assume that my review is statistically significant and that WeBuyCars indeed is not to be considered when you are in the market for buying a second-hand car. On a weekend, you wait on average 30mins to locate someone to assist you, upon which their excuse is "it is weekend and they only have skeleton staff". In order for the public to afford a car, they need to work during the week, making weekends the time their target consumer is available. However, they either do not care about this or do not take this into consideration. Furthermore, the staff does not care to ask you whether you are waiting to be assisted or whether they can provide assistance as they have selected eyesight and tend to turn away if you try to get their attention. I am making the assumption that they work for a salary and not for commission because they do not come across as enthused to make a sale. This past weekend I identified a vehicle (Audi) at the Jhb South dealership I was very much interested in and proceeded with initiating the purchase early Monday morning. Within 20 mins, I received approval for finance through my preferred bank, ABSA. According to the financial team from ABSA, the car was still available, but that it will be for R25k more than priced as repair and dealership insurance amounts should still be added. This was indicated to be a WeBuyCars condition. As I do not know who will willingly purchase a car forR25k more than retail price, I tried multiple times to contact the assisting personnel, Louis, in order to clarify these additional costs and the process to be followed. He was very difficult to get hold of, very unprofessional and did not care to provide any assistance what so ever. He also indicated that the car cannot be moved to the Midstream branch and that they might repay the R10k added for repairs if none should be necessary. I, on the other hand, had Audi themselves verify the clean service history of the car and knew there were no repairs to be done. This raised concern regarding WeBuyCars' transparency when it comes to the service they provide and all the additional hidden costs. Furthermore, Louis then indicated that the car has already been sold (within the time I received approval and the time it was impossible to get any assistance from them). This will surely mark the last time I consider looking at any WeBuyCars' deals and will ensure to share my experience whenever and wherever possible. As we are all well aware of the economic state of our country it should be a business' first priority to ensure that they establish a trusted brand to be able to produce revenue and stay ahead of any competitors. I will not recommend nor trust this brand and am extremely disappointed that this is the quality of service they have to offer.
