Webuycars is overrated.

We buy cars has a lot of positive reviews unfortunately I don't think much of them. It is a classic baiting system, buying and selling is separate, not because it is convenient but it makes it impossible to negotiate a decent trade in, it is near impossible to have any queries answered, if you can get hold of someone and if you phone customer care a few times then your calls are not answered any more. I was offered R175 000 cash for the vehicle but declined because I wanted a specific car for a trade in, when the car became available on the we buy cars website I contacted them, they requested all the details of my car and a load of photos - which I supp****. this morning they came to inspect the car and the valuation suddenly dropped to R78 000 a 40% drop in one week. The guy from the Dome branch claimed every body panel was resprayed and cracking, I have had the car for twelve years and the person before me had it for five years and only one panel was ever resprayed, he also said the windscreen needs replacing, there are no cracks or blemishes on the windscreen and last but not least he wrote the car needs a service - the car was serviced 800km ago (by a reputable mechanic) started first time on the road test and drove very nicely. They offer high prices to start with to get you into the shop and then they find fault with everything and you are so hyped up on the deal that you are cheated into thinking you are getting a good deal but you are not. BEWARE don't get caught in the hype. The same car was just advertised for R229 000 somewhere else, so they are offering R78 000 for a R229 000 car in other words about a third of the actual value.
