Webuycars are the worst ever!

WBC are the worst. Please people beware. I bought a 2006 Range Rover from them in June this year. Both their salesman as well as their mechanic assured me the car was in good condition and the only issue I had to sort out was a squeaky fan belt and ofcourse advised me to service the vehicle. Lo and behold, 10 minutes after I left their premises in Brackenfell, Cape Town, the car overheats and the gears doesn’t change properly. I call their salesman for assistance and he promises to get their mechanic to call me back. After another 2 attempted calls, they do not return my calls. I eventually top the car up with water and take the car to my mechanic. He finds 2 small leaking holes in the radiator and the diagnostics picking up a transmission fault.I instructed him to service the car and replace the tappet cover gaskets which were leaking a bit of oil. Thereafter, I took it to a radiator place, they did a test and found that the car has blown cylinder head gaskets. And the nightmare begins. I sent WBC a written complaint and they rep**** that I bought the vehicle as is. I then forwarded my complaint to the Ombudsman, MIOSA, and 2 months later, they rule in favour of WBC, cos I replaced the tappet cover gaskets. Apparently, when submitting a complaint, you are not supposed to have any work done to the vehicle. I was not aware of this, and what does a tappet cover gasket have to do with blown cylinder heads and a gearbox. I am now taking my case to the NCC. Hopefully something good will come from there. Just thought I’d share my experience thus far, in the hope that anyone reading this post, does not make the same mistake of buying a car from WBC, cos all they care about is swallowing your hard earned money and leaving you with endless problems and stress.
