We Buy Cars - ******** Use Of Vehicle

I purchased a vehicle from We Buy Cars with a Gold Dekra report on 23 November 2024. On taking the vehicle to a registered dealer for a service 3 days after purchasing, I was informed that the vehicle needed R101k in repairs. I immediately informed We Buy Cars that I wish to return the vehicle and get a refund. After 2 months of back and forth correspondence they eventually agreed to take back the vehicle. During this time I did not have transport as I could not use the vehicle. We Buy Cars were totally unsympathetic to my dilemma. The vehicle was returned to We Buy Cars on 13 January 2025. I was refunded on 24 January 2025. On the 30th January 2025 I received a phone call from SA Police asking if I was the owner of the vehicle which had been returned to We Buy Cars. I was informed that the vehicle had been "involved in ******** activity" and that I was still the registered owner. I explained that the vehicle was in possession of We Buy Cars. I immediately sent correspondence to We Buy Cars advising them of the communication with SA Police and that they send me confirmation that I have been deregistered as the owner failing which I will report the vehicle as ******. It has been 1 week and I have had no reply from We Buy Cars despite numerous follow-up correspondence.
