WE BUY CARS to be held liable for any and all repairs due to negligence
19 January 2024, Evert Botha came to see me with regards to the 2013 118 MSPORT i have for sale. he done a full inspection on the car report/ reference LWL071836. from the report written there was no engine knock, this you can even ask him. my asking price was R125 000 as i need to settle the bank. he then submitted it for R110 000 and WEBUYCARS came back with a offer of R95 000 which i declined. anyway, long story short, upon inspecting the vehicle Evert opened the oil cap - his words were, "damn, the engine is still hot" (he might have burned his fingers, im not sure), he put the cap back after checking BUT i cannot recall him closing the cap. When investigating, you can even ask him if the engine was dirty or had oil marks, IT WAS NOT DIRTY NOR DID IT HAVE OIL MARKS!. i then drove the car for a week, towards the end of the week, i heard a clicking noise from the engine. i opened the bonnet 27 January to find that the oil cap was loose and spilled some oil on the engine top. i then topped up the oil thinking that the noise will go away. My car is now getting worse. I called Evert 29 January 2024 and he insisted he closed the cap. No one else opened the bonnet, it couldn’t have just opened by itself. I am now stuck in a situation where I think the car has a bearing knock due to his negligence. I don’t have another vehicle to get to work and I wanted to sell the vehicle to pay the bank. How will I now sell a vehicle in which I did not break? How will I now get to work? I want to request that someone comes out and assess the vehicle as I will not be liable for the repairs of this. should the vehicle/engine cease, I will strongly hold WEBUYCARS liable for this. I now await someone to contact me- in which I give you 48 hours to do so.
