we buy cars the DOME please be careful, selling un roadworthy cars

I am very disappointed in WE BUY CARS (DOME) Saturday morning the 1st February 2025 , firstly we went to hilfox WE BUY CARS, and the Gentleman that was working there, was fantastic in accepting my mothers car , and payment was done straight away . that’s why the next part is so upsetting because I always use to use and refer to we buy cars, but after this , im not sure I will ever go back to WE BUY CARS. I work in the industry , so referring a lot of clients for me , was on daily basis.

My mom needed to find another vehicle after selling her car , so we went to the dome we buy cars. Walked around , went outside and walked into the vehicle lot there, there were 4 WE BUY CARS staff standing there , just looked at us and nothing ,they were talking among themselves, it was hot and I had kids with me aswell. Anyway walking around there was no prices on the vehicles or anything , so I managed to find someone , and said please can you assist us, he said oh im busy, just scan for the price . So I had to download a scanner quickly, scanned some of the cars, other cars didn’t have the sticker and when scanned went to other thing. There weren’t any really cars that caught my moms eye, and still no one was helping us, yet there was a lot of we buy cars staff members there. We saw this one car , and my mom liked it , so we asked one staff member please my mom likes this car, she would like it , but hasn’t driven it or anything , can you assist.

He walked to the office and we followed , he didn’t say a word about all the stuff wrong with the vehicle. He took us to the main building , went to print stuff and came back , I then left had to go , as it was long day. My mom signed , he didn’t explain anything , said sign here here and here , my mom paid , waited for keys, then she only got to drive the car, and waited so long to get out there , wow when she drove it , she felt the clutch wasn’t right , gears weren’t going into gear. Boot doesn’t open, then I said send me everything they gave you mom, I started going through it and I picked up, as I know cars, that the suspension was messed, meaning being in accident , gearbox messed , clutch messed. I told my mom to go straight back and complain and take that car back, as she wasn’t told about these thigs or didn’t even test drive it .

How do WE buy cars get that car through road worthy, if its not roadworthy? Can only be one way . She spoke to the manager there. They accepted the vehicle back, but now must wait for a refund, or to find another car , online well they process everything , this could take up t two weeks , meantime yes my mother is retired , but she needs a car, she doesn’t want to buy from we buy cars again, so I have found her a car through our dealership , but noe to get her refund is a wait and very annoying , why cant they just refund my mom, they are at fault , by letting an old lady firstly drive that car, when it’s a total mess, not telling her about the car, not assisting us when we walked in. now this . she is gonna loose this other car cause of taking so long to just refund my mom the money. It wasn’t even a day she had it, it was few hours and she took it back .

I am disappointed that such a big company would see vehicles like this to public, not worrying. I really hope someone can acknowledge this and try in future to give better service and not sell **** not roadworthy vehicles to anyone. Stop with sell what ever to who ever just to get a sale.
