We buy cars - ripp-off artists

I contacted We buy cars in Johanneburg this morning via their website. I gave the description of my vehicle, they indicated that eventhough they cant pay the price that I want for my vehicle R180, 000. They indicated and I have this on email, that according to the book value for my car Trade at R98, 000 and Retail at R114, 000. which franco really took a chance on as i confirmed minutes later with my insurer that the trade value on my vehicle for average km's is trade R138, 300 and retail R160, 000. In matter a fact my is a 2007 model, with less than 27, 000 kms on the clock, its my Sunday car, it only gets driven on Sundays when the sun shines for the soft top to come off. Itsleeps under a dust cover and in a lock-up garage. After my insurance double checked the km's on my vehicle, they indicated that the km's in actual fact is very low and the Trade value is R145, 215 and the retail at R168, 400. in my opinion, we buy cars are there to ripp-off people wanting to sell their vehicles, they claim its hassle free, they come to you, in matter of a fact they offer the public rediculous low offers on their cars and then sell it at maximum profit.

Your info is wrong and you are acting in a slanderous way.

Regarding the Chrysler Crossfire:

Do you know where that car sits on Top-Gear's Un-Cool Wall where Hammond had put it?

People don't like those cars.

I quote from the Crossfireforum.org page:

"I know I'm probably opening up a can of worms here, but what do you guys and girls think about how the Crossfire coupe was reviewed by Top Gear? It did gall me that the presenter thought that the cornering wasn't up to scratch and the rear looked like a dog doing its business and the car could not make up its mind as to whether it was a sports car or a boulevard cruiser???

Your Car Description:

2007 Chrysler, Crossfire, cabriolet, V6, 2-door, blue-grey, petrol, FSH, immaculate condition, only done 26, 891 km, it’s my Sunday car, only drive it when the sun shines, sleeps under a dust cover in my lock-up garage. I'd like to free up space in my garage.

Mileage 26891

You dispute our book values!

I dare you to give us the Trade and Retail Values of this vehicle in black and white as it is published by Transunion. I have it open in front of me I can send anyone a photos of it.

Trade is R 98 000 and 108 000 for an Auto, and then there is a published scale to compensate up to a maximum of 10% upward for condition and mileage.

You requested us to make an offer, we cited the true book-values as for average mileage - as they actually appear in the book.

Further we only mentioned that you asking R 180 000 for a Chrysler Crossfire is absurd, even if it has only 27000km on the clock - it is still not a popular vehicle.

It never was.

I dare you to get your insurer or broker's reply in writing.

And publish it somewhere we can see and verify it.

You would not get it from them.

They will not publish it, because they made it up.

Which means for all practical intent and purpose it does not exist.

The only true book-values is that of Transunion, the one's we use.

Besides, they are not going to buy your car.

And neither am I.

In the Transunion M&M Book Introduction, it mentions that these values are subject to interpretation, they are not fixed, and they are confidential between Transunion and its dealers.

We have not made you an offer on your vehicle at all, never nowhere ever!

Thus you are by no means a client of ours, and as such you are filing an illegitimate claim on Hellopeter - which is for real clients.

I also have a copy of all our mails between us of course.

We only mentioned to you that we would be interested at much less than R 180 000 - which is an absurd asking price.

We mentioned that you should keep in mind that the current Book Value of that car for average mileage is R 98k or 108 if it is auto.

I take huge exception to your unkind words, I feel you are spiteful, rude, and slanderous.

It makes me really sad.

You don't know us from a bar of soap.

You only sent one request for a quote, you did not get what your greed dictated, and now you slander us!

Sies man.

Here I quote our response on your request for a quote on your car:

"Hi Good Day!

Thank you for using www.webuycars.co.za

Our sincere apologies, we can't assist with this vehicle.

We would be interested when you are absolutely ready to consider a substantially lower offer.

Thank you for your time and your effort.

FLK

WBC Team"

You replied:

"What is your Offer?"

And we responded:

"Good day,

What would be the minimum price that you would accept please keep in mind book value is as follow T98 & R114.

Regards."

We are a very proud of who we are and what we do, and that is clear from our Hellopeter profile too.

Please remove your slanderous post.
