We Buy Cars Poor Customer Care.

We bought a vehicle from We Buy Cars in July 2023 with a Dekra report, a full service history from the dealer with 132k kms on. Last service was done at 129k kms.

Soon after we bought the vehicle we discovered that the new parts fitted during the last service were indeed not new. Pictures were sent to sales person and We Buy Cars.

We Buy Cars did not respond to us regarding this issue.

We have to date had to claim the following repairs on the vehicle that we are aware of, Viscous fan Engine rebuilt 2 x Turbos Burst water pipe Thermostat After thermostat replacement we had 3 futher breakdowns without any indication of what the faults were.

After the last breakdown last week we indicated that we do not want this vehicle anymore and is at We Buy Cars currently.

We have sent numerous emails to customer care representative and if we do not follow-up with emails, phone calls or Whatsapp, we do not get any updates.

We bought the vehicle for R190k and have thus far claimed and spent more than half that in repairs. If we did not have the extended warranty, we would not have been able to repair it. This vehicle is financed and we have to pay it every month, even though it has been standing at a workshop for more than two months so far in the less than 7 months we had it.

Last reply we got from We Buy Cars is that we are out of the six months Customer Protection Act and seems to me that it has been a waiting game for them to use it as an easy exit out of this issue.
