We Buy Cars is the worst

Never buy anything from We Buy Cars! They are very happy to sell you anything but have zero after sales service. Tiaan at We Buy Cars the Dome was the salesman and sold me a Sprite Caravan. Not only did I speak to him but also another salesman about the caravan. I specifically asked them about the condition of the caravan and if there were any faults both had a standard reply "my manager says it's one of the cleanest caravans he's seen". We paid the reserve money and started the paperwork.

My second interaction when I went to sign the paperwork was with Tiaan. Again I asked him if anything is wrong or broken. He said no, and again said his manager says it's a clean caravan. I asked him if we can close the roof and open it again. The roof fell on our heads as all the gas struts were broken. Obviously someone had to push the roof up in the first place and that person surely knew this was a problem.

Tiaan suggested that they WBC will setup the whole tent for me for final inspection when I come to fetch the caravan. This he didn't do because there was no pole connectors nor any ropes or pegs. This the salesman probably found out when they tried to pitch the tent but couldn't. Still no one said anything.

Tiaan also assured me that if there is any major defects, that We Buy Cars will refund or replace it. Which is something one would expect from a large well known dealer. It turned out that the roof was also broken and had water leakage. This I only saw at home when I was able use a ladder at home. This caused major wood rot inside the caravan.

This is not where the problems stopped. The spring coil of the handbrake was broken, the Damper shock was broken, the one gas stove didn't work, the water pump was broken and even the movers are broken.

It is impossible that no one at WBC didn't know about any of these issues. The only reasonable conclusion I can draw from this is the fact that the salesman deliberately withheld information from me in order to make the sale.

There is no way how this can be legal and in the best interest of the consumer. I will gladly take this up with the ombud and the consumer complains commission.

All I want is a refund or a trade in. This is a reasonable request and does not put WBC in a worse off position. All i received from my complaint to WBC's was a standard response saying that I signed the sales agreement.

My complaint is with Damien Cornelius. This guy sent me a very standard response as if my complaint is worthless. He also doesn't answer his phone so why put a number there to reach him if he's never going to answer. The letter stated I can add to my complaint if WBC didn't have all the facts. I did this because the person that took my initial complaint did write it down correctly. Yet, I receive zero response from the complaints side. I will launch a complaint to the ombud as WBC failed to disclose information they had which was critical to the sale.
