WE BUY CARS IS A *******!!!
Hi, I bought a car (Opel corsa 1.4 enjoy 2008) from We Buy Cars Pty in January 2019. The car was previously involved in an accident an WBC NEVER INFORMED ME OF SUCH. In March i had to replace a Top gasket which was +_R8000. The car parts have welding material all over it and it has NO AIRBAGS.
WBC sold me a coffin on wheels as it is unsafe to drive in and they refuse to take responsibility and take their coffin back. i paid R55000 for this car and the replacement of the airbags is R35000 plus the major service of the car. I spoke to DAN HARBER WBC South gate and he told me that i signed that i understood their terms and conditions and i bought the car with all its problems. as a big company why did they not inform me of those issues. I want my money back or WBC MUST PAY for the fixing of the vehicle.
Can someone from WBC contact me as i am frustrated with their coffin and i am tired of paying towing fees because everytime i attempt to drive it it overheats as the water pump is blocked with welding material.

- You purchased the vehicle from We Buy Cars South Gate on the 3rd of January 2019 as per the signed documentation attached to the mail. Before the purchase, you signed and accepted the terms and conditions under which We Buy Cars sold the specific vehicle.
- At the time of purchase, the vehicle had 92000km on the clock. There were some parts in the boot of the vehicle like old steering cluster pointing the replacement of the steering cluster. There were some warning lights on in the vehicle pointing to a few issues. There was also some aftermarket instrumentation fitted to the vehicle by the previous owner, which was available for you to inspect.
- At the time of purchase, the vehicle clearly showed signs of spray work which could have indicated the vehicle had been repaired in the past. Spray work on the body of the vehicle is not something that We Buy Cars could not have hidden from you as you had the opportunity to inspect and test the vehicle before you committed to the purchase.
- In March you then experienced mechanical issues with the vehicle whereafter you proceded to authorise work to the value of R8000 to be done on the vehicle to repair the overheating problem you were experiencing. To date, you have not been able to provide me with any proof of the work done.
- On 11 June you contacted Luba stating that that the vehicle had no airbags in and that you would like to return the vehicle for a full refund. On the same day, you sent an email to Dan Harber requesting the same.
- You then received an email from Dan Harber stating terms and conditions you excepted before purchasing the vehicle and the position of We Buy Cars on the matter. You then turned your attention to Hello Peter to complain about the outcome of your request.
- The vehicle currently has 99000km on. Since January 2019 you have driven more than 7000km with the vehicle.
- In March the vehicle was repaired as per your authorization after which the vehicle was never fully repaired and continued to give you the same problems. This, in my opinion, points to substandard workmanship (not appointed or mandated by We Buy Cars) on the side of the repairing workshop who should be held liable for any mistakes they may have made.
- You waved the 6 months imp**** warranty provided for by the CPA when you authorised work to be done on the vehicle without consulting with We Buy Cars.
- At no stage did We Buy Cars guarantee the quality of the vehicle or its safety features.
- It is my opinion that the vehicle provided you with enough information before the purchase in the form of warning lights, replaced parts and aftermarket fitments, that was never hidden by We Buy Cars, to point to a higher risk vehicle and that We Buy Cars were at all times as transparent as could be reasonably expected by any law. You were happy with the purchase in January and nothing regarding the vehicles conditions has changed except for the work that was authorised by yourself at your chosen repairer.
- Should it so happen that the vehicle does not have any airbags installed, please make sure that you attend to the repair to ensure your own safety.
