We Buy Cars Is A Huge ****, Pay Me Back My Money!

At the beginning of December 2025, I bought a car though an online auction from We Buy Cars. Reading the report and the age of the car, I accepted that the issues indicated were within reason and were things I was prepared to fix once I'd picked up the car.

After traveling from KZN (North Coast) all the way to Cape Town to pick up the car, the car was prepped enough to satisfy my need for the test drive but had underlying major issues that manifested less than 24 hours later when I started my journey back home. The car leaked coolant and oil, battery died. It was not driveable and had to be returned (via tow truck).

After negotiating that the sale be cancelled and my money returned I incurred even more costs booking a flight back; in addition to the bus tickets going to the Cape, Taxi fares, food and a fuel tank put in the car for the road, which was never used. Now it is the end of December and I have not been refunded. I am tired of following up and begging for my money to be paid back.

In addition to all this, the car has been put back on the market with the same issues (save for the coolant leak issue that HAD to be fixed for me). We Buy Cars refused to help me with a fuel voucher. I had to put in fuel just as I drove out of the Brackenfell dealership, but never used it. They refuse to refund me for the fuel, but they use the fuel I put in to move the car around and is now relocated to a different branch (Richmond (WC - Online Only)). They are running a big **** and need to be called to account.

I want my money back, a refund for my fuel and compensation for the trauma that they are causing me. I have missed so many opportunities because they have not paid my money back. I have had to cancel trips and failed to honour my commitments with friends and family during this holiday season, all thanks to We Buy Cars' croockedness. They are a big ****!
