WE BUY CARS CUSTOMER SERVICE APPALLING!!

The customer service at We Buy Cars is simply appalling! On Saturday 21 February 2026 I purchased a vehicle on finance from We Buy Cars (Vereeniging). I am from Pretoria, about 130kms away. On leaving the branch I noted that the vehicle does not have number plates. Not a big issue. What I did not notice in my rush to get back to Pretoria was that the vehicle also does not have a temporary permit. Fortunately, I was not stopped because imagine the effort to get reimbursed if there was a fine! The next day (Sunday) I went to the Montana branch in Pretoria to collect a temporary permit. On Monday I notified the salesperson about the situation. On 2 March 2026 I was notified that license & registration was completed and that I have to collect at Montana. I picked up the registration document but there were no license plates. I raised this issue with the branch in Vereeniging (sales and F&I person). It is 10 days later, and I still have not received any plates. I have raised a concern, was assigned a consultant that would be dealing with the concern but a simple thing as producing license plates has still not been resolved 10 days later. The consultant never provides feedback and 10 days later after multiple calls from my side and "apparent" escalations on their side I have managed to speak to the consultant only once. She simply does not call me back or provide me with any feedback. If I don't call, they don't call. HOW DIFFICULT CAN IT BE TO PRODUCE 2 NUMBER PLATES? HOW DIFFICULT CAN IT BE? They charge R2450 for licensing and registration but cannot produce the product that is to flow out of that service. If I could give them a minus rating, I would have. Definitely my last vehicle with We Buy Cars and I definitely will make other people aware of their poor customer service.

Thanks for your reply. However, in addition to the existing bad experience I have been forced to pay again for my own number plates after paying WBC R2450 for licensing and registration. The least WBC can do now is to refund the entire portion of the R2450 that is allocated towards number plates.
