WBC - Misleading and ***********
What an incredibly poor experience with WBC Midstream (specifically Akash and Sadia). Akash told me the vehicle was in excellent condition and after submitting the finance application, I was contacted by Sadia at 17h58 with feedback (they close at 18h00). Naturally, I had questions regarding interest rates and the warranty which they were forcing me to buy and told me it is "mandatory" but while I was trying to clarify, Sadia cut me off and rudely told me she doesn't have time for this and she had to leave. Akash then called me and told me apart from buying the mandatory warranty, I had to also pay WBC to service the car as it was overdue (even though the WBC advert indicates the car service history is complete and up to date). For all of these things he kept telling me “Don’t worry it only adds R100 to the instalment”. The next day I called Akash to check if I could view the vehicle and he told me he was not there but I can go to Midstream and see the car but cannot drive it as it was "jammed" behind many other cars. I also tried to make alternative arrangements to view and drive the car but he was unwilling. The next morning the car was taken for COR, I signed and returned the OTP, I paid a 20% deposit and the car was taken for a service. I then arrived at Midstream that afternoon to collect the car and was told by Akash that they are just finishing with it in the wash bay. I was made to stand and wait outside Sadia's office for 1 hour while she giggled and laughed with another customer over unrelated matters (by this point I was fuming). I then got to view the car and it was a disaster (a lot of which was not mentioned on the Dekra report or by Akash – like the perished seats, missing back windshield wiper, etc). It was absolutely filthy and it was clear that Akash **** about it being washed (another Manager, Kiran confirmed the car was filthy). It was so bad that I found a half loaf of brown bread in the foot well of the back seat and a sarcastic remark from Akash "the workshop left you a gift". I then refused to proceed with the purchase and asked for my deposit back but was told they have to deduct the money for the service. Firstly, I've gone through your T&Cs and nowhere does it state that the purchase of a warranty is mandatory for a bank financed purchase (so I was misled about this). Secondly, nowhere does it state that it is mandatory for WBC to facilitate the servicing of the vehicle to activate the warranty. This is just one lie on another! I had a choice about all of these things but you told me it was mandatory. I tried to get these things in writing but Akash and Sadia refused to respond to my emails and put it in writing. Apart from all the lies and *****ing the cost of the service from me, how do you treat people this way???
