Vehicle Purchased From WeBuyCars Developed Multiple Major Faults Within 3 Days – Only Partial Reimbur*****t Offered

It's a pity that I can't give negative stars. I am lodging this complaint regarding my purchase of a vehicle from WeBuyCars.

The vehicle was purchased in mid May 2026, midweek, Before purchase, I was provided with an inspection report indicating that the vehicle was in good working order, with no significant leaks, overheating issues, or drivetrain concerns.

However, that same weekend of ownership, and over time the vehicle began experiencing serious mechanical failures, including:

• Drivetrain malfunction warnings • Limp mode and loss of power • Engine misfires and rough idling • Coolant warnings and overheating concerns • White/blue smoke from the exhaust • Oil leaks and fuel contamination concerns • Starter failure resulting in the vehicle requiring towing • Repeated breakdowns and workshop visits the car has been in the workshop more then my yard.

BMW and independent RMI-approved workshops subsequently diagnosed multiple faults requiring substantial repairs. I have incurred significant costs out of pocket, including repairs, diagnostics, and towing expenses, simply to keep the vehicle operational.

While WeBuyCars has offered to reimburse R25,000 of the repair costs, that is only half of the money, also under conditions that I waive all further claims and they are not liable. I refused to sign the MOA. They have refused to reimburse the remaining repair expenses despite the vehicle exhibiting severe defects shortly after purchase. I have also been informed that I can not cancel the sale and no further reimbur*****t will be considered.

What is particularly concerning is that the vehicle continues to experience issues despite extensive repairs, leaving me without vehicle because it's currently not in working condition

I have attempted to resolve this matter directly with WeBuyCars and have cooperated fully throughout the process. I have provided invoices, proof of payment, diagnostic reports, and supporting documentation. Unfortunately, we have not been able to reach a fair resolution.

I requested that WeBuyCars either:

Reverse the sale and refund all amounts paid.

Fully reimburse all repair-related expenses incurred as a result of these defects and ensure the vehicle is repaired to a proper working standard.

Facilitate an exchange for a comparable vehicle of similar value.

They rejected all these options.

Should this matter remain unresolved, I will continue pursuing the complaint through MIOSA and any other relevant consumer protection channels.

I would appreciate a senior representative from WeBuyCars contacting me to reach a fair and final resolution.
