Unresponsive, negligent and seemingly *********** after sales service - WeBuyCars.co,za

I purchased an NP200 from WeBuyCars Lansdowne on 9 Feb 2026, on the 18th Feb 2026 the clutch failed while I was driving home from work. Upon inspecting the vehicle while waiting for the tow truck I noticed a puddle forming under the bakkie. The master cylinder's bleeder valve was open and spewing brake fluid, with some of the engine bolts around it being loose and missing securing nuts. The vehicle is undriveable. On 19 Feb 2026 I lodged a complaint with Customer Care and received a response saying that someone would be in contact with me within 24 hours. There was no such response. I even went to the branch I purchased the vehicle from and a manager iformed me that I would be contacted on Monday with a way forward. There was no such contact until I called the Customer Care line on Tuesday, 24 Feb 2026. The consultant I spoke to, Kagiso told me that there was no record of my complaint on the system and that she would need to investigate. A few minutes later I received an email confirming receipt of my complaint (again), followed up by an email from Cherize Möller, responding to my initial email detailing my complaint. How or where did my complaint suddenly surface from? The case was then escalated to Grace Ngwenya. Now, throughout this period, the bakkie has been standing at my home, undriveable. I was asked to provide the mileage and a full repair quotation from a workshop. So, firstly, how is the vehicle supposed to get to a workshop if it can't be driven there and secondly, why should I spend more of my own money on this process when the vehicle is clearly defective. Moreover, with how long and arduous it's been to just get a response from this company, I would have been paying storage fees at the workshop while waiting to hear back from them. This is unacceptable. Moving on, Grace Ngwenya seems to have escalated the case to a Chandre Rossouw to assist with arranging a tow truck to a workshop. This individual has yet to get in touch with me to provide any form of correspondence or update on the proceedings. I've sent several emails and called the customer care line, only to be told that the case agent, Chandre Rossouw, will call me urgently. That was just under 3 hours ago and we're nearing close of business. Tomorrow it will be a week since I've lodged my complaint with no resolution in sight and no feedback from WeBuyCars.

It's been three business days since your reply was posted and tomorrow will mark the 10th day since I submitted my complaint. The case agent assigned to my complaint has yet to give me any feedback or updates since this process was initiated. I'm actually at a loss for words. It's as if the result of last year's case and subsequent fining of WeBuyCars by the NCC has done little to nothing to redress the clear lack of ethical conduct by WeBuyCars in line with the CPA.
