Unreliable car and no after sales service or response
I just bought a Toyota 86 with 94k on the clock, and within less than a month the engine is making noises. The car needed to be taken in for a rear window brake light and exterior temperature sensor to the mechanic. I had to take the car in myself to the mechanic on We buy Car’s instruction, even though the rear window brake light and exterior temperature sensor was part of the salesman pre-sale “recon”. When I got the car back the hooter was not working anymore, and I was told that I needed to cover the cost before I raised the fact that the salesman and his manager said they would sort it out. This was due to the fact that the light needed to be ordered and I am guessing they did not want to pay for it. On sending a follow up email threatening to post a review on hello peter, I received an email saying that they are working through the mentioned issues and will get back to me. This mail was then followed by a call from the sales manager saying that they are trying to keep all their customers happy, and they are working on it. The following week after the mail and call, I sent a follow up mail requesting an update and mentioning the engine noise that started. The salesman emailed me a response saying that the matter has been escalated to the head office whom I am still waiting to contact me. I have also sent a mail to the head office and received no response. The car costed me over 200k with a warranty and service plan and has just added extra stress and worries for me to deal with. We Buy Cars has always promoted customer service but since I bought a car from them, I have not seen any of it. Followed by all of this I find out by their own mechanic, that the car was in an accident and the salesman told me it wasn’t. The salesman manager then tried to make a recovery after what the mechanic said by telling me it was probably caused by driving into a pavement in the parking lot at a shop. We Buy Cars are very quick to sell you a car and promote how customer focused and good they are, but I am very unsatisfied and disappointed. Buying a new car is something big and exciting and this whole process and problems with We Buy Cars has made it a nightmare.
