Unprofessional Poor Service Guaranteed

<p>I bought a vehicle from We Sell Cars under their "wholesale" clause; i.e. you do the roadworthy yourself instead of them doing it for you; knowing that I will have to fix minor things, like e.g the shock absorbers.</p> <p> </p> <p>What I did not know (as this I could not see when looking at the vehilce the day of purchase) is that this vehicle had been in a major accident and that there were issues with the engine.</p> <p> </p> <p>So I bought the vehicle which was delivered to me some days later - Thanks WSC for the service of delivering.</p> <p> </p> <p>However upon delivery I noticed that the window switch mechanism was broken and not as what I can remember from it when looking at the car. I notified them immediately with no response.</p> <p>The following day upon starting the vehicle the Engine Management Light stayed lit on the dashboard. I again notified them with no response.</p> <p>I noticed that the dipped beam headlights were not alligned. The Saturday I decided to see if I can allign the dipped beam headlights. In my search for where the "*****s" are to do the allignment I noticed that</p> <p>1: The expansion tank bottle pipes were broken (cannot see this from looking down onto the engine.</p> <p>2: The headlights' brackets where they are (supposed to be) secured to the body were broken. Also could not see this at WSC due to lighting and colour of brackets.</p> <p>3: Then the biggest surprise of all is that the welding securing the bonnet holders (whatever it is called) is sheared apart.</p> <p>I immediately again notified them with pictures of the uncovered damage with which they responded the Monday "...we did nothing wrong..."</p> <p>I am in a position where this vehicle cannot be used to transport my family in safetyand effectively lost my money as based on the above (and whatever else might be hidden) will prevent the vehicle from passing a roadworthy test successfully. I can only sell the vehicle as s**** now.</p> <p> </p> <p>And thus far their (WSC) only response is "We did nothing wrong we told you cars are sold as is". There had been no effort to send somebody to come look at the damage - NOTHING!!!</p> <p> </p> <p>Sure cars are sold as is but at no point was I informed that this vehicle has hidden engine problems (see Engine Management Light that came on in between pulling the car into the garage and staring it again the following morning) and was in a serious accident. </p> <p> </p> <p>Many email communications (from me)to various people and only the above response. Apparently the email had been escelated to a manager BUT still nothing on how this isseu can be resolved in a decent and fair manner equitable for both parties.</p> <p> </p> <p>Had I been told the above I would not have bought the vehicle and would have considered another they had in stock.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>

Je

Our head of sales will still get back to you, I just want to interject here and set things in perspective for the benefit of the reader.

Why would you buy from a Wholesaler of Vehicles who sell "As-Is" and "Without duty to repair"?

Why do you buy at a place in an Industrial Park, a Warehouse place that sells 70 to 80 cars a day, - half of which they literally took delivery of yesterday?

Why do you buy Wholesale at a Warehouse if you are looking for customer protection and after-sales service?

You do that because you like to buy where the dealers buy.

You do that because you enjoy the price benefit, and you enjoy the vast array of the odd 700 cars to choose from in one location.

You like the vibe, it makes you feel alive, you love to have so many options at such affordable prices.

But in the process, you seem to forget the terms of service, the conditions of sale, that seems to get lost in the excitement?

If you need retail service - you need to go shop at a retail place, if you want McArthy service, then you need to go to McArthy.

Our terms are displayed and communicated a multitude of times to our customers, and you also sign off on it when you buy.

Our terms of service are well documented with the Ombud, and I feel you had every opportunity to gain professional help and assistance to evaluate the vehicle before you bought, and you had access to the vehicle and you were allowed to test it and drive it.

At Wesellcars.co.za, we respect the consumer's right to buy wholesale, we respect the consumer's right to buy where the dealer buy, within the exact same legal framework and requirement. We respect the need of some customers who prefer not to be "protected" and don't need pampering, people who know how to manage and mitigate risk and seize opportunities, just the same as dealers face every day.

Many many places in Johannesburg don't afford you that luxury when you buy wholesale or on an auction, to test-drive and inspect and bring your mechanic to help you evaluate. We do.

We sold it to you "as-is", "without a duty to repair", without roadworthy or registration - which you are obliged to do.

You allege that we were aware of the problems the vehicle have now shown, already when you bought it.

We sold the vehicle on before we had the opportunity to scrutinise the vehicle to the level you have. we were not aware of these issues.

I repeat, I categorically state that we were not aware of these issues.

How do you

An Accident is when the collision damaged the frame of the vehicle.

"Damage" is also debateable - did it bend the tip on the end, or did it bend the frame in the middle ?

You may well have a badly repaired bumper bash there, I don't know.

I will ask the Sales Manager to review it. But we also need to be consistent and fair in the way we apply the rules, even if it is controversial and unpopular, many people also benefit from it every day.

Hi Je-moi,

Kindly find that we received feedback from our Head of Sales, and he confirmed that you purchased the vehicle cash and had enough time to inspect the vehicle before accepting and signing our terms and conditions.

He advises that you asked them to inform you of any faults with the vehicle, and they explained that it is your responsibility to check the vehicle before purchase, and that we do not check anything. The price card of the vehicle also stated that there is no warranty on the vehicle you purchased.

According to our Head of Sales you were well informed by the sales person and understood exactly how you purchased the vehicle. He also advised that he contacted you personally for further discussion.

Regards,

The WBC Team
