*********, bullying tactics used for a more than fair and legal request

I bought a car from them at the beginning of January. Drove it for a week before I had to leave for a three week overseas trip. After getting back I drove it for 8 days before the gearbox broke down. I followed all of their guidelines per their policy. Took the car in for a quote, filed an online complaint, got in touch with a representative and sent through ALL the required documentation on the 18 March also stating my intention for a refund (As per CPA Section 56(2)) as I was still well within the six month window as stipulated in the Consumer Protection Act. The insurance company was willing to pay the maximum amount possible for a gearbox/transmission, which means that it could not have been negligence but a defect. Unfortunately we went into a nationwide lockdown so it would be unfair of me to expect this to be resolved in that time. However when level 3 was implemented, I followed up on my query. Since then I have been held on a string, and been promised phone calls from the representative as well as the HOD, which I am yet to receive from the latter. All while still paying my installments every month.

They had offered to pay the outstanding amount to the repairs eventually but the fact of the matter is that I drove a car for two weeks, cumulatively, before it broke down. It would be fair to say that I do not trust the car nor the dealer anymore. Requesting a refund is also fully within my rights per law as well as a fair request if you bring in the human side of things. I have been very cooperative and patient. But I keep on being delayed. This will be the last time that I deal with them and I would urge anyone against buying from them as the product might be a defect (which is a risk you have with any 2nd hand car) but mostly because of the tiring and bullying tactics they practice when dealing with your issue.
