Trying to lowball the public.

I took my vehicle to the Silverlakes branch for evaluation. The salesman came back with a ridiculous offer which was R226 000 below the trade price. I asked him how he got to such a price and he gave me a figure for the vehicles trade price. I mentioned to him that I had access to the new Dealer valuation book and that his figure was not correct. He insisted that he used two different applications on his cell phone that gave him that figure. I then asked him to get the Dealer valuation book and I showed him what the actual valuation is. His cell phone applications were locked in on the petrol model of my vehicle which is R130 000 lower than the value for the diesel model. So by starting with the wrong car and value I was already at a disadvantage for the valuation. I don't know how a senior salesman can make a mistake like this. The customer must show him which value to use for the correct vehicle? Maybe this is a trick that webuycars use the ***** the public. Not everybody has access to the Dealer valuation books and they can tell the public any story with a cell phone application to back it up. My advice is contact your insurance company to get your vehicles trade and retail figures before you visit webuycars. Just be careful because it looks to me that they are not all that they say to be....!!!
