Traumatized

I am appalled with my experience with We Buy Cars. I left my vehicle with them for assessment, after the head gasket had blown 5 months after purchase and it remained in their care for four weeks. When my quote was declined, I collected my car from the mechanic in brackenfell who told me the salesman from we buy cars had told him to say it's the water pump not the head gasket. The moment I drove away, I heard a noise that was not there when I originally handed the vehicle over. When I inspected the car, I was shocked by what I found. There was an empty whiskey bottle under my driver’s seat, takeaway packaging and loose papers inside the vehicle, and a go-kart racing pamphlet in the cubbyhole. The car was returned to me in a very dirty condition, with clear signs that it had been used and driven by others. The boot showed signs that items had been loaded into it. I had valeted the car the day before dropping it off — it was spotless and pristine. I raised this with management and was told there was nothing they could do and that I should escalate the matter. Because the noise persisted, I took the vehicle to my own independent mechanic. He discovered that the catalytic converter had been removed, the exhaust system had been taken off and rewelded, and the dust cover underneath the vehicle was missing. These parts were intact when I handed the vehicle over. I left my car in their care for assessment and received it back used, damaged, and with parts missing. This has been an incredibly stressful and upsetting experience and have received no feed back yet, I will be laying a charge of theft against them. I would strongly caution others to be extremely careful when leaving their vehicle in their care.
