Thorough investigation needs to be done with a complaint
I am so disappointed, frustrated and sad. It feels like I just throw away R167 950 plus R19572,68 for major service and repair in the drain.
January 27 traveled from Bloemfontein to Midrand to buy a VW Amarok, did a test drive and everything looked 100% at the time. The consultant that helped us on the floor, mentioned that the vehicle should only go for a major service but is in 100% working condition. We said we would do the service in Bloemfontein. With the drive from Midrand back to Bloemfontein a red oil light went off flashing with an alarm. January 28, the vehicle went in for a major service as advised by We Buy Cars and for the red oil light at Bosch Electro Diesel Bloemfontein. The mechanic suspected first that if was a faulty oil sensor, we went throw with the major service and replace the oil sensor but soon after the repair and as the vehicle get warm-up the red oil light will go off again, after further investigation the mechanic suspected the oil pump was faulty and we replace the old one. We received the vehicle after 7 weeks, drove 2 weeks and the red oil light came on again. Immediately taken the vehicle back to the mechanic where the vehicle stood there indefinitely, the vehicle was transported to me just after Lockdown and now only stands without working. We found a previous invoice with the same defects. Bosch Electro Diesel Bloemfontein sent report that stated the vehicle need new engine or engine repair, gear selector tied with cable ties (broken) and diff lock blank off. This vehicle has very low oil pressure.
I first called Webuycars on the 17th of June and came to Fred Jansen van Rensburg, he suggested I first submit my complaint online and then forward all the documents to his email. On the 19th of June Fred whatsapp me to ask how many km the vehicle has exactly and I send a photo of the km. On June 24th, I received an email from Fred about my complaint where they say: This matter falls under point 1 as set out by We Buy Cars terms and conditions on the Buyer Registration signed by yourself on the 27/01/2020 as well as point 1 and 2 of the Terms and Conditions signed on your invoice as attached on the same day. Please see attached.
I feel my case was not properly investigated, We Buy Cars just looked at the contract I signed and not my complaint as well as the terms and conditions are against the National Consumer Protection Act. I'm still in my 6 month warranty. I did not buy a vehicle that was at a auction, but did pay in cash, as well the vehicle is still roadworthy, but due to the defects I still cannot properly transfer it to my name. All I asked for was a repair or to exchange the Amarok for another Amarok of the same value.
Please investigate my case properly, the vehicle itself has not even had the chance to drive properly since I bought it. I bought this vehicle with the defects and there is a history (previous repair invoice) on this vehicle with the same defects.
