*******-We Buy Cars
I purchased a vehicle from We Buy Cars on 9 March 2022. I inspected the vehicle, a VW Amarok and was happy with the vehicle based on the Dekra report that was presented to me. On collecting the vehicle the assistants at the dealership in Midstream peeled off a Dekra sticker on the from bottom right of the windscreen. A crack on the windscreen was then visible which was camouflaged by the sticker. I asked the salesperson to lodge a complaint which he did. According to We Buy Cars they attend to complaints within 24 hours. This is not true as many days went by and the complaint was only looked at on 16 March 2022. However, We Buy Cars had taken a decision not to repair the crack that they so deviously blocked off from being visible to me. The cost to repair it is a mere R150. I purchased the vehicle for R189k.
I am not sure what is being investigated here. A Dekra sticker was placed over the chip by We Buy Cars so that the the chip was not visible to the customer. Furthermore the documents that I singed clearly indicated that the windscreen is free from any chips or cracks.
The least that We Buy Cars can do is to repair the chip. Your company intentionally blocked that chip in order to expedite the sale of the the vehicle.

Typical David and Goliath response. I believe the public will like your response to the following:
1. Your team intentionally camouflaged the crack on the windscreen by putting a Dekra sticker over it.
2. The forms I signed clearly indicated that there was no damage to the windscreen.
3. Your commitment to respond within 24 hours to complaints is a farce-I reported this incident last week and only late this week a negative response was received-and that only after numerous calls and follow up from the customer.
You see the issue here is about credibility, honestly, customer commitment. The fact that We Buy Cars are in denial to this incident shows their pedigree/principles that they have adopted, i.e., to sell cars at all costs-take the customers money, make them sign papers and hold it against them. Lying and cheating to innocent, vulnerable people that have little to no recourse in dealing with been **********. I intend to expose your company to all social networks, this being just the start. I firmly believe that your company needs to rethink your business model, which is definitely not a favourable one currently, lying and cheating and being in denial. South Africans are wise people and you will be pleasantly surprised to know that we are going to castrate you when you do wrong. So I ask that you admit your actions have being dishonest and tantamount to uncompetitive behaviour to say the least. When your competitors hear of this incident, they are going to have a field day. I will not want others to be exposed to such behaviour and will continue to urge everyone NOT TO BUY VEHILCES FROM WE BUY CARS.
