Terrible

On 08 August 2022 we went into the Springfield branch in Durban to purchase a Nissan Qashqai at about 10:00 in the morning.

On arriving to view the vehicle we were told that the vehicle was on auction and that we would have to wait until 14:00 for the auction to finish.

The salesman, Noel Shunmugam, informed us that the auction price of R178000 would be valid when the auction expires and that it was not necessary to register on the website and put down the R5000 deposit in order to bid in the auction.

This turned out to be completely untrue as when the auction ended the price went up to R186900.

On querying this we were informed, by the floor manager Wesley Boshoff that the salesman was mistaking and that the price went up as the “special” price was because it was a promotional auction.

Seeing as we already made arrangements to sell our current vehicle on the same day, we ended up agreeing to purchase at the higher price.

Noel then told us that the vehicle did not have a Certificate Of Roadworthiness and that we would have to go to the Dekra Centre in New Germany to have this done and that the logbook was not available yet and would be couriered to us (The vehicle’s license disk had expired),

Upon doing the COR at Dekra, we were informed that they could not issue the COR to us and that it would be given to WeBuyCars.

Noel promised to send this with the logbook.

On 19 August we were informed that the logbook had been received and would be couriered to us.

After a week we had not received anything. Noel did not respond to any calls or messages for feedback.

On 02 September, I finally managed to get hold of Noel and he informed me that he must have forgotten and that it hasn’t been sent yet.

Meanwhile we are sitting with a car with an expired license disk that we cannot drive or register.

The experience with WeBuyCars has definitely not been a positive one.
