Stay away from WeBuyCars
I have received from WeBuyCars hands down the worst service I have ever had from any establishment in my life.
It all began on the first of November 2022. I wanted to get my hands in a white Clio. That I need for work. Went to view the vehicle, test drove it and I was happy. I told the sales guy Tyler I am interested and paid their R5000 fee to reserve the car.
The evening before I had to pick up the car I am told all of a sudden that the vehicle has already been sold. How when I had even paid their fee to reserve the car!? I am told it was a system error and they will try and make it up to me. That's 10 days completely wasted. Remember I need this car for work. Then I have to wait for them to find another vehicle. This took about 2 more week as they had to bring a vehicle over from Cape Town. They gave me a discount on the vehicle because of the inconvenience and you'd think this would be the end of my problems.
From here it took them a whole week just for me to get the OTP to send to my bank for the car loan. After repeated follow ups and getting sent incorrect OTPs I finally received the the correct OTP and finalized things with the bank. I got the car on the 29th November 2022 after almost a whole month of struggling with this company and that still was not the last of it.
I needed new plates which they charged me R2000 for. I was told it can take up to 21 days. After 2 whole months I still didn't have my plates!!! I picked the car up in the 29 November and only on the 31 January did they messaged me to come get my plates. This is after I had called and followed up countless times with the branch and the call center. No one knew what was happening and I just kept getting told to wait. Their call center was absolutely useless and branch was not much better.
When I went to get my plates the next problem presented itself. They did not get me a license disk so I could not even use the plates. They told me I would have to wait 2 more weeks for that and I would have to bring the car in so they can take it for a roadworthy test as the previous one had expired because they took so long. In other words I would be without the car for that long again. I complained to their sales manager at Germiston and the guy did not give one **** about the nonsense they were putting me through. He couldn't even give me an apology, not a single sorry from him. I had to take the car to Dekra myself to do the roadworthy test and go to the licensing department to get a disk where I had to pay extra money to get it. This is after I paid WeBuyCars to do this but I basically ended up having to do it myself. They should refund me the license and registration fee I was charged.
Now my new issue is that the sidelights on the car do not work and I dread having to deal with them again. I did not notice this until I was parked in front of a glass door and saw they were off. I called the sales guy Tyler for assistance and he advised that I need to log a concern on their website. I did that a week ago and I have heard nothing from them since.
My journey through hell with this company continues.
