Sold a Broken Car

I purchased Renault GT Line Megane 2011 from WeBuyCars Brackenfell on the 31st January 2022. The car was in good condition and had reported a minor oil leak and idling of the petrol gauge on the Dekra report. The car had 174 000km on the clock and was bought cash (two years worth of my hard earned savings). Around two days after buying the car it began to make a faint rattling sound but i paid no mind to it, as i believed this was what the car might sound like when accelerating or driving - normal. I've driven for the past three months with this sound oblivious to what it may actually mean until the 25th May 2022. The car refused to start up in the morning, after trying about five or six times the car started up but had the most awful loud rattling sound come from the engine. Clearly something was wrong so i took the car in for a diagnostic "check up" on Friday 27th May 2022. The Renault dealer came back with a report that the timing chain of the vehicle was of and the vehicle cannot be driven until its fixed. The amount to fix this will be just under R30 000. As you can imagine, i am furious however i reported back to WeBuyCars Brackenfell where i had to deal with the salesman who had initially assisted me with the purchase. After much argument and defensiveness from him, he resorted to writing out a complaint on his tablet and advised that i will be contacted with 24hours. This was Friday 27th May 2022 around 12:30 midday. Today is Monday- i still did not get any communication from anybody at WeBuyCars. The consultant was more understanding of my complaint after seeing that the current mileage on the clock was only 3000km more from time of purchase (now 177 000km meaning i really have not driven the car a lot). To say that I AM Disappointed is an understatement. I am utterly appalled at the idea that i might have been Taken for a ride after saving for a car for two years. How is it that I just bought a car three months ago from these people but now have no car at all. IM TRULY NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS LYING DOWN. THIS IS PURE EXPLOITATION. The fact that I still have not received my registration documents after three months- Says A lot about the service.
