Sneaky and dishonest - False Dekra report
I purchased a car from WeBuyCars on 05/11/2022 on finance and as I was driving home with the car, the engine light came and I immediately contacted the sales person and he advised me to log a complaint and the problem would be sorted. John Wilkinson contacted me on 07/11/2022 and asked me to take the car to a RMI approved motor workshop, which I did on the 11/11/2022, the workshop manager said that I should bring the car in on Monday 14/11/2022 to drop the car off so that they could investigate and diagnose the problem, which I did, the next day - 15/11/2022, I was advised by the workshop manager that an O2 sensor needed to be replaced and then I contacted John Wilkinson and he asked that I send him a cost estimate of the repair which I did and he asked me to advise the workshop manager check with the warranty company to which the workshop manager advised that the claim would be rejected as the car is modified. To my shock I emailed John Wilkinson advising him of this, I got no reply or feedback from him so I contacted the Sales Agent Devon Zeeman, he has always been great with his service to me made contact with John Wilkinson and then I got advised from Devon that I have 2 options; either the purchase needs to be cancelled or I can keep the car but come to WeBuyCars and sign a document relieving them of any lability by voiding the warranty. I took some time to think about and decided to keep the car and gave the workshop manager the go ahead with the repair and also did the oil change and wanted to tune the car as I was advised that this needed to be done after a sensor replacement as the car exhaust had a very strong fuel smell. I finally got a call from John Wilkinson on the 17/11/2022 and he asked what the best outcome will be for me and I advised that I would like them to put the car back to stock, but he advised me that they cannot and need to cancel the deal as they are not allowed to sell a modified car which was a Category A car, and will need to get the vehicle back and need to sell it as a Category B car for cash, and I asked him about my deposit and the repair and the oil change that I did and paid for, he advised me that the deposit will be preserved and will be paid back to me minus the cost of the KM's I did with the car and that I should bring the invoice for the repair and the oil change which will get sorted as well. The next morning 18/11/2022, I picked the car up from the workshop and drove straight to WeBuyCars and dropped the car off. Today - 29/11/2022, I have received my deposit minus the cost of the KM's I did, but I have not been reimbursed for the repair and oil change which amount to R 7 632 and the finance for the car has not been settled and is still reflecting on my name but the car was listed back on the website on 25/11/2022 as a Category A car which was taken down after I sent them a email asking what is going on, The car is back for sale on the website but now as a Category B car since yesterday 28/11/2022 with the same Dekra report that was listed when I purchased the car, which was a very good report and there no mention of any modifications on the car. Now, I am not getting any feedback regarding the finance settlement nor my reimbur*****t for the repair and oil service. This whole experience just shows how sneaky and dishonest they are.
