Sleazy!

I bought a Bmw from them at an online auction for a good deal. The listing mentioned that it "needed attention" and I assumed that it might not be in the best condition.

When I wanted to come and pick it up they told me it was a non-runner. So I told them thats not ideal, if the description said non-runner I would not have bought it. They said I should have read the DEKRA report. So I asked if I can see the report and they said non-runners don't get reports. So I was a bit upset and I said ok can I reverse the transaction? They said yes, but since it was an auction I had to pay a penalty of R5000.

So it came down to it that the head gasket was blown. I said no I will come and get it but I will need some time to find a vehicle and trailer. When we picked up the vehicle the battery was ****** from it, so they said no its fine I can buy another one and they will refund me. So I bought a battery and sent them the slip and picture of the battery.

After having the engine repaired, we saw that the gearbox was also broken and it was even more costs and time spent on the car. I remembered that I still haven't received the refund for the battery, so I asked them about it and they said no they could not read the slip I must send a better scanned version, probably hoping that I lost it by then. So I got the slip and scanned it and sent it again.

After 10 days passed I asked about the battery refund again because I realised they won't be doing it on their own. So they asked for the slip again and I sent it again. So 2 months later after sending it 4 times, they decided to block me on WhatsApp.

So I'm guessing that moral of the story is: Don't buy a vehicle from Webuycars, and really don't buy one that "Needs attention". For me that turned into a time and money consuming nightmare, and being blocked by them since they did not even want to refund me for the battery which they offered to when the car was still on their lot.
