SHOCK TREATMENT AND MECHANICAL ISSUES
We reside in Midstream, Gauteng. We found the desired vehicle online referenced https://www.webuycars.co.za/buy-a-car/2E*** which was located in the Durban Branch. A Landrover Freelander.
We initiated the deal with we buy cars in Durban on Tuesday, 30 November. Everything up until Thursday, 2 December was going fine. We have a family member that went down to WBC in Durban to have a look at the vehicle as we stay in Gauteng. It was noted that the left hand passenger doors did not open with the central locking. The sales person told us that he would get it sorted by the time we pick up the vehicle on Saturday morning.
We followed up on Friday, 3 November to make sure everything was sorted before we drove down to Durban. On arrival at WBC Durban on Saturday, 4 December we had a look around the vehicle and took it for a drive, to find out that the passenger back doors still did not work and the back passenger seatbelts did not work. They were very quick to get us to sign all finance documents before the following events occurred.
It was then decided by sales manager Prenola Moodley that it needs to fixed which was incredibly frustrating as we had followed up before driving down to make sure everything was fine.
We had to leave by 3pm on Saturday, 4 December to make it back in time for curfew, we were told that it should only take a few hours. After sitting and waiting for most of the day we then tried to contact Prenola to take the option of taking the car as is and sorting the issues out ourselves, she then told me that option was no longer a option and threatened to call the police if we take the vehicle off the mechanics premises and this is after all documents and release forms were signed, she was increbly rude, never did she offer any kind of suitable resolution to the problem.
Now 2 days after driving the car, the passenger doors have stopped working, the cruise control didn't work from the moment we left WBC, We weren't able to test this as the test drive didn't allow us to drive over 60kph. The windscreen wipers throughout the day go on for no reason.
After inspection of the roadworthy certificate which was completed Thursday, 2 December there is no way that they would have been able to fix both doors and marciously within 2 days break again. The same goes for the passenger seatbelts. This means that the roadworthy was **********
They are great for asking you for information but when you need anything from them it's just impossible to get a timely reply or feedback.
My next step is to start speaking to wesbank and letting them know that they now own a car with roadworthy and electrical faults and let them take it further with we buy cars.
