SAD REFLECTION OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
The issues started when I purchased a Mini Cooper from We Sell Cars. They informed me that they will let me know when the NATIS papers would be ready. After waiting almost two months I contacted them only to find out that they were having issues getting the original papers from the owner who sold the car.
This raised red flags because I cannot even sell my car to any dealership without the NATIS papers so legally I could be driving a ****** car for all I knew.
I took the vehicle back and exchanged it for a 2006 MG 160 TF which I was really crazy about. There were issues with the MG so after contacting We Sell Cars a few times they agreed to look at what it would cost to rectify the issues. Because I use the car on a regular basis for work purposes I could not afford to take it to the place that I was instructed to and leave it there for the day I drove the car for three weeks. The Cambelt broke and after several phone calls a meeting was arranged with the directors and myself.
I went to the meeting only to find out that there was no meeting instead I was offered a choice of 3 cars. I chose the Corsa Lite 1.4i which was the best choice of the 3 cars on offer.
Now this is where the issue actually comes in. I drove the Corsa for just on a month and picked up engine problems. Changed spark plugs, changed spark plug leads only to find out that it was a switch on the coil pack that is faulty.
There was a price difference between the Corsa and the MG of R3000 which they were prepared to write off. However, taking into consideration that the book value on the MG is much higher than that of the Corsa, I was requested to sign documents with regards to this price difference.
The sale value on the Corsa was R52000 and book value R26000. So here I am thinking that We Sell Cars was doing me a huge favour when in actual fact I was being done in. 100% markup on the book value price...
You can imagine my disappointment when I did an exercise by finding out how much they were willing to give me on the Corsa a month after taking it from them and their offer was R30000. R30000 on a car that they offered me in exchange for the MG which was sold to me for R49000. Go have a look at the book value of the MG.
This is totally unacceptable as We Buy Cars and We Sell Cars are both at fault here...
1. They sold me a Mini Cooper that they had no legal papers for 2. I exchanged the Mini Cooper for a MG which drove for 3 weeks and then the cambelt broke 3. I could not work for almost 3 weeks because that's how long it took them to offer me a replacement vehicle under the auspices of doing me a favour. 4. Overcharged on the Corsa making themselves look good because it "actually" cost more than what I paid for the MG. 5. Offered me R30000 on the exact same Corsa that I had bought a month prior to the evaluation and price was R52000.
Where is the justice in this and how is this fair to the consumer? I understand fully that a wholesaler benefits by purchasing these vehicles on auction but what about those who are NOT wholesalers and actually use the vehicle to do their job.
This is a really poor display of professional service We Sell Cars. You can't even trust those that say they are helping you or doing you a favour. But I guess that's what life is about. Always doing someone in.

I am awaiting feedback from Henry, and we will respond formally to this communication in due time.
I do not agree with the sentiment in your letter and I find it hugely disappointing after everything we did for you., and we will elaborate in detail on that when we answer.
Your interpretation of events represents the grimmest and most negative interpretation of events possible.
I don't have a record that we ever offered you R 30 000 on the Corsa, as you claim.
I do have a record of two other vehicles we gave you formal offers on, but none for a Corsa.
I dispute that.
