Receiving a Non Road-worthy vehicle from WeBuyCars: INV 131328

Hi. 1) I bought a Nissan 1400 bakkie on the 5th of February on Auction from the Brackenfell Branch of WeBuyCars 2) As requested I paid the amount for the vehicle and the company transporting on the same day which was the 5/2/2025 3) I then had a struggle over 14 days to get the vehicle delivered to the WebuyCars branch at George 4) I had to done most of the communication to know where the process was and how far the delivery was. Extremely frustrating and emotional draining. 5) I was notified on the 19/2/2025 that the vehicle was delivered in George after I phoned the Transport company (TAC) and they confirming that it was delivered. Only thereafter WeBuyCars phoned me to state the same 6) My son(14yrs) and I went to collect the bakkie yesterday with much excitement. 7) When we got there nobody knew about us coming, despite the Brackenfell Branch stating we can just go and collect. 8) Because I bought the vehicle via a WeBuyCar Auction I requested a test drive at the George branch, but that was ignored as all the salesmen were busy with other clients. 9) The damages to the vehicle when I first saw it in person was really much more than what was shown to me via pictures. 10) A WeBuyCar employee came to my son who suffers from Asbergers and Autism and said we can leave. 11) We then took the bakkie and that is where our nightmare really begun. 12) Immediately I realized that the steering wheel were lose and that the suspension of the bakkie was not working, I had to clung to the steering wheel to keep it on the road. 5 Km out of George the engine went dead and smoke come out of the Engine. I just made it to the side of the road as the car cut out totally. We were confronted by extremely heavy traffic flow from the rear heading to Mossel Bay where we also were heading. 13) My son could not get out of the passenger side of the vehicle as the door would not open. He had to exit through the window. 14) We waited for at least 30 minutes for the engine to cool down before we could open the bonnet. The engine was so warm the paint inside the engine were melting. 15) The whole time my son and my life were in danger being stranded due to a not roadworthy vehicle that was sold to us. The Dekra report WBC send to us did not reflect the actual state of the peace of junk we were given. We were open to being hijacked, ****** or an accident from traffic coming from our rear where the broken bakkie stood on the side of the road. This was really disappointing and I am furious about the whole transaction and that WeBuy Cars can actually put such a vehicle on for sale. 16) I had to call in a towing service to tow the vehicle. The two mechanics immediately told us that we were driving a `death-trap` and were shocked at the state of the vehicle. While still driving from George the Gear Box Cover as one example came off immediately and we could see the tar road beneath us. 17) The main thing that makes me furious is that WeBuyCars sold us an non-roadworthy vehicle and a vehicle that must actually go to the s**** yard. 18) I am sending the vehicle back via Meyer Towing services on Monday to the George branch of WeBuyCars. I have also informed my lawyer about this when I was dropped at home at 18h00. 19) The whole thing about this transaction was that I had faith in WeBuyCars as a national and ethical vehicle dealer. But the fact that I had to struggle to get the vehicle in George, the poor service received, and what made me furious was that the life's of my 14 year son and mine was put in danger. 20) The 2 mechanics from Meyer Towing are willing to make a statement that the vehicle is not road worthy and as they called it a death-trap. Thank God that HE protected us from getting hurt 21) Thus I have communicated to the sales person and his manager that I want a full refund for as per the tax invoice and the cost of Meyer towing the vehicle back to their site for safe-keeping in Mossel Bay and to have the vehicle taken back to WeBuyCars in George. Also the costs paid to TAC to transport the non-roadworthy vehicle from Cape Town to George

Lastly I would like one of the two brothers who own WeBuyCars to please contact me as I don`t believe they would agree with the service and vehicle I received who. Thank you. Reverend Morne ***
