Price you see IS NOT the price you get

What a waste of time this was. After trying We Buy Cars, I would 100% not recommend someone give them a go at the risk of going through the same thing I went through. I found a car I was particularly interested in - going for R519 900. Images of the vehicle looked great. When i went to the warehouse - (this was the one in the South) and I was warned about this branch, that if you do go to a branch, it should be the flagship store at the Dome.

Anyways, going to see the car, and there were some things there that weren't evident on the images - big dent in the door, crack in the bumper, scuffed up handle. It was in great condition when it came in, but someone obviously left their mark on it at WBC.

That aside, I processed the application for the vehicle, at the price on the tag in the window, and the price on the website R519 900. After the bank approved the deal, I got the paperwork showing the price of the vehicle at R587 900. No explanation as to why the jump, just "congrats, deal approved"

I had to follow-up as to what was going on. The sales consultant said he would follow up, as well as the lady in finance. She came back to me, saying the manager was aware of it at R519 900, and that they would sort it out.

After 4 weeks of waiting for the vehicle, I was contacted saying they can't adjust the price, because it's still under maintenance plan. Didn't they know this when they put the car on the showroom floor? It's such a weak excuse. I expect them to honour the price they had it at - feels like I'm dealing with a back-end dealer here. This backpedaling nonsense isn't what I expect from what I was hoping was a reputable brand.

4 weeks of holding out for a vehicle coming to nothing. Now they're asking if I still want to move ahead - just a quick R70k that we forgot to put on there... Ridiculous.
