Potential Buyers Beware!!

I went to WeBuyCars to look at a specific vehicle. The vehicle itself was in excellent condition, albeit in an impractical colour. The salesman offered that we take it on a test drive, but that I need to complete the website online finance application form if I want to test drive the car. I expressed my hesitation, but he said that they can check my affordabillity and then only later in the afternoon I can decide whether I want to buy or not. During the test drive it transpired that the advertised price is not the actual price as you are obliged by WeBuyCars to take out a warranty on the vehicle as they do not want to be liable if they sell you a lemon. It also transpired that their "on road" cost is an additional R 6000 on top of the mandatory warranty. The test drive was completed and I was constantly being pushed to buy the car. Finance was approved but I had already by that time decided I am not comfortable with the pressure being app**** and have decided to rather do a bit more research and shop around. I the had to endure a phone call from the salesman trying to guilt trip me into buying the car because of the test drive and the application process the HE pushed on me. I re-iterated why I had my reservations and then was told that if I do not buy the car within 7 days, that I will not be able to apply for finance again as I will then have a bad credit score. I told the salesman to go fly a kite... SO: - I had to apply for finance before I could test the car. - I would have had to pay extra to absolve WeBuyCars from their legal obligation under the Consumer Protection Act. - I get *********ed with a "bad" mark on my credit score because I refuse to enter into an agreement that I am being pressured into by the salesman.

People should be made aware of the tactics employed by this organisation.
