Pathetic service

This review is related to the branch at Grove Mall, Windhoek, Namibia.

My sister-in-law did an online survey to sell her 2010 Suzuki Alto 1.0 GLS to We Buy Cars. She completed the questionnaire honestly and supp**** photo's where requested. The original offer price was N$55,000. She phoned the Windhoek branch, spoke to Arno, and enquired whether the price will significantly drop on inspection, since we have to travel approximately 976km from Oranjemund to Windhoek. He told her that the price will only drop should they find that she supp**** false information and for major issues on the car.

When we got to the branch, they did an inspection on the car and took the car for a test drive. We were both in the car with the employee during the test drive. He asked her when she needed to sell the car and she told him that she arranged with Arno to sell the car that same day, since she is going to another dealership where she is going to purchase another car. The We Buy Cars employee then "jokingly" said that if they offer her N$15000 for the car she would then have to take it, since he understood that she needed to sell the car that same day. To which she rep**** that it wasn't even a possibility to let the car go for that amount. When we got back to the dealership, he told us that we should give him ten minutes to run everything through the system. The offer he gave us was N$43000, N$12000 less than the original offer. When my sister-in-law asked why the offer dropped so significantly, he told her that it was because all the services was not done at a garage. She told him that she did indicate it on the questionnaire and she had the invoices for the parts purchased with her. He would not budge, that was his final offer.

We took the Suzuki to the dealership where she purchased her new car, Windhoek Auto - Where we got exceptional service!! They offered her more for the car. They spoke to the person/s at We Buy Cars, and enquired why they offered her only N$43000 for the Suzuki, the answer was that the car had sun damage and was not the original colour - which was an absolute lie!! We Buy Cars even sent a photo to Windhoek Auto (which was clearly edited) showing a whitish colour on the bonnet (to indicate the so called sun damage) and a reddish colour on the side panels (the original colour of the car is rose pink). The manager at Windhoek Auto had the Suzuki in front of him, and he could see that the photo did not reflect the truth of the car's condition. I want to make it clear that we received exceptional service at Windhoek Auto and will definitely recommend them.

I am very disappointed in We Buy Cars. I can't help but feel that they tried their luck, because it was two women who wanted to sell the car. Maybe they thought that we would just accept the offer? My sister-in-law and I will never again make use of We Buy Cars.
