No sale , because sorry for diclosure on your pre approval , you are NOT the buyer ??
I'd like to express my fair disappointment with the sales team at mid-stream we buy cars. I had procured two vehicles from We buy cars before and never had issues otherwise. We opted to acquire a unique hatchback, Toyota Auris that was taken off the auction list for the proposed price stated. In order to have first options , my Fiancé opted to arrange for bank approval .We had no need to pay deposit as we understood that would be only applicable on the auction terms and since the car was no longer on the auction list , the sales team indicated that we would have to start the online application process. I had provided all my paperwork, statements and private information requested to direct mail support. This being a classification a vehicle, our excitement grew much as my disclosed banking application was noted as received. Two weeks went by and after the festive season and most business opening, we still had no feedback on the possible success of a bank loan. The advert on the website indicated that a sale was in progress, us assuming with much joy that we had first option all the while. Our excitement was short lived, after it was found that the car is no longer displayed on the website or pinged as a favourite on my profile. My fiancé followed up, only to be notified by the sale guy that the car had been sold to someone else instead. Imagine our disappointment! It was stated that vehicle finance had been pre -approved and that all information provided was in good order. How was I not notified of a pre clearing sale underway already? The very least the sales team could do was to notify me about the vehicle being sold or that we had been too little too late to apply. If for any other reasons we had received less good news, for any other sale it would have been acceptable, since this was a Hybrid car, we anticipated the application was a success and that we had first options on the securing of the deal! I have no issues with first come first serve, though we had understood that with filing the documents, we had the option to procure. If only we had been notified of the sale at a lost, it would have been acceptable terms, but this reflect poorly on the communication efforts of the sales team that day. We had hopes and it was obviously false hope to go by! Not happy with the effort and the sales acumen on hand! The mere fact that I had within the application agreed in scope of the POPI disclosure of information provided , was under the impression that I had succeeded , as permission was granted for Banking institutions to do full and comprehensive check into my banking and finances , only not to be notified of a failed sale and that someone else was granted the offer instead. If this was a cash sale , they could have told be so. I wish the company and the sales team to up the standards pronto, as money in the hand seems more important that actual long term relations with the public, hence my opinion stated.
