No Feedback from We Buy Cars Again
I wrote the following to Hello Peter re We Buy Cars on the 27 Aug 2024 at 17:22 We Buy Cars gave me feedback on the 28 Aug 2024 at 08:17 saying they will investigate. I have not heard from them since. NB. Is there anyone that can either help me or give me feedback. (Hello Peter or someone with legal know how or perhaps media to take this matter forward.) I am a small business owner, up against a large establishment like We Buy Cars that is getting nowhere. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
My name is Rika de Clercq and I have been using the We Buy Cars platform to buy and sell cars since Nov 2023. I bought 3 cars through We Buy Cars from Nov 2023. The last car I bought was a Nissan X Trail 2016 as you probably know from my profile. We (my partner and I) specifically asked if the car was in an accident and the sales consultant confirmed that the car has not been in an accident. I bought the car for R175000. I tried to sell it for R199000 after I fixed the dilapidated driver seat, serviced the car and did minor touch-ups on the bumper of the car. (Cost all together plus minus R6200) I tried selling it to 3 people, one of which was through a car dealer. He picked up that there was considerably more work done to the car. They also picked up that there was an insurance claim against the car. Needless to say I was left very embarrassed, because I told them the car has not been in an accident before. They actually proved to me on paper that the car was in an accident. Due to this I lost the sale. I lost 2 other sales because the customers were complaining about the spray painting. So I went back to the sales people at We Buy Cars where I got the car from in Richmond. Now they offered me R120000 for the car I bought for R175000 plus I spent about plus minus R6200 fixing the car up. May I add I did not even work on the areas that the client was complaining about. On telling them that the car was in an accident they still denied it until the original prospect seller sent the proof through to me via WhatsApp. Then they went and looked at the car again claiming that the car was damaged on the front left side and all the glass was replaced (the front screen and the left window was out) It was explained that somebody could have broken into the car. I did mention to Christo, the buyer at We Buy Cars that if they wanted to break in they would not have smashed all the windows. Plus what I did not mention to Christo is that the panel beater that was readjusting my front bumper took pictures of damage that he suspected the car was in an accident. Christo's manager refused to pay me more than R120000 which means I lost not only R55000 on the car but also the plus minus R6200 I paid to get the car serviced and ready for a sale. I know Christo tried. He did tell Charlize the admin lady to wait with my payment to see if he could get me more for the car. You can see why I am not happy with the above. Not merely did I not make an expected profit, but a huge loss because I did not get the correct information or basically false information. Due to struggling to sell the car I was forced to sell it back to We Buy Cars at R120000 only to find they sold the car a week later for R150000. I have proof of all above information and if required I can provide you with it. NB: I reported the incident at MIOSA ombudsman. And they did not address the actual compliant. Please can you help me with the above as I have not only lost the R62000 but also 4 months loss of sales income.
