Milage turned

On the 19th oct 2020 I drove 75km to the midstream branch to view a vehicle. (Vito 2014) it was very well priced and the kM (138 000) was low too for the year model. I dont know what made me call mercedes benz only to find out that the Vito had already done 262 000km at the start of 2016.

My question is do they not check the vehicle mileage or are they turning the clock to the condition of the vehicle.. I was really really disappointed and I now have doubts on all their vehicle without service books.
