****med of R40000

Good day, I bought a car at We Buy Cars at Pretoria Silverlakes on the 23rd of July 2024, from a consultant Jabulani Sithole. The car that I purchased is a BMW 1 Series, 120i for R40k. I was given the Dekra report which listed things that needed attention or to be fixed from my side. On the 24th of July 2024, I bought the parts as per the Dekra recommendation which costs around R4k. I took the car to a car mechanic in Tulisa Park on Friday, 26 July 2024. On Saturday he called me to give feedback on his findings on the car. The mechanic recommended that I not drive the car back home to avoid further damage. On the same Saturday after receiving the report from the mechanic, I then proceeded and contacted We Buy Cars customer service to lodge a complaint on what the mechanic had found. I was given a reference of 72705. I had to tow back the car to my house on Monday, 29 July 2024 which cost me R1800. I called to follow up on the progress of my case, I was told I will be called back by Cherise duToit. She only called me back on Wednesday, 31 July 2024 to tell me that my case has been handed over to Kimberly Mngomezulu. Kimberly called me on Friday the 2nd of August 2024 to find out on the issues on the car based on my complaint and said she will provide me with feedback on Monday the 5th August 2024. Kimberly requested the feedback from the mechanic detailing his findings on the car. The feedback I got today from Kimberly was that my case has been declined and We Buy Cars will not assist me further with anything regarding to the car that I bought from them. Based on the report I got today from We Buy Cars consultant, this is shocking to me as I was not told about the additional issues on the car which may have had an impact on my decision in buying the car, nor was there any declaration from the salesperson about the Voetstoots clause. I would have opted on buying another car or went elsewhere to buy the car. The way my case was handled, it was not handled in a professional manner as a customer. On the call reference it said I will be contacted within 48 hours, which did not happen. I ended up calling them back. I spent a lot of money on a car that is not usable based on the recommendation of the salesperson 32as he changed my mind on the initial car that I had my mind set on. As per his recommendation the car was in a good condition with just service issues. My biggest shock is that I drove a coffin from Pretoria to Katlehong not even knowing I was putting my life in danger and that of other road users.

Good day,

I am still waiting on your feedback as no one from We Buy Cars has called me since the last response here dated 06 August 2024. No effort has been made to communicate with me thus far. I am really disappointed by the service I received from We Buy Cars. I am sure if I was of the opposite race my query would have been addressed accordingly. It is 7 days later, nothing has been sent to me as proof that my issue or case is being addressed or attended to.

Kind regards
Mfanelo Tshabalala
