Living My Worst Nightmare!

The trauma that comes with buying a car from WeBuyCars! I bought a BMW 1 series on the 29-11-2023 CASH! Not financed by the bank or anything. Cash deal. It has been giving me issues since purchase. I have been spending so much money on this vehicle trying to fix it. Fast forward to 3 months later, the car has a gearbox issue and the gearbox has to be replaced! an issue that was not stated on the Dekra report. Only to be told that when they assessed the car, it didn’t have a gearbox issue and because I’ve been using it for the past 3 months, that’s why there is a gearbox issue. 3 MONTHS of use. I bought the car for R124k and fixed it for R30k for it to have issues 3 months after purchase. The manager Ashley, at the Richmond Cape Town branch gave me so much attitude telling me they unfortunately cannot help me with that and that I must lodge a complaint with their customer care. I am traumatised! Imagine saving up for so long, wanting to buy cash only for you to be faced with all these issues. WeBuyCars is not good for anyone’s mental health. Maurice was my sales person and I alerted him about the issues with the car 8 days after purchase! 8 days, this is before I learnt that it would be a nightmare 3 months in. I’ve heard all sorts of stories about WeBuyCars but never have I ever thought it would ever happen to me! I’m living my worst nightmare. All that money lost within 3 months, money that was saved for at least 2 years!!!

The sales person, Maurice from WeBuyCars Richmond has resulted in blocking me from WhatsApp. All because I’ve been needing answers regarding R123 000 spent on a car that is faulty. The best solution according to him is to block me?! It’s been over a week and I haven’t heard from WeBuyCars since. R123 000 of my money down the drain.

It has been close to a month and I still haven’t received any correspondence from WeBuyCars, I was told the sta is 48hrs however weeks later and no one has reached out. I’ve been sending emails and no one is responding. It’s sad to think that I’ve lost over R150 000 buying a car from WeBuyCars, having to fix it etc. Even the salesperson has resulted in blocking my number. It’s really a mess of an organisation that gambles with people’s hard earned money. If by this week I’m still not getting a response. I’m going to seek legal action. It’s way too much money to let go of just like that.
