Knocking Engine Noise - 10-Month Ordeal

After 2 weeks of buying a car from We Buy Cars, I experienced a knocking noise coming from the engine. As per the Salesperson I needed to get it checked at an RMI accredited shop. The vehicle was checked by Bosch Service Centre. WeBuyCars were informed however they blatantly said the car was sold as is. The matter was escalated to MIOSA and after 10 months of the agonizing inconvenience of not having a car I won the case and WeBuyCars were instructed to repair the vehicle. They could not do so stating that they could not get the spares. They finally decided to pay me out what I paid for the vehicle. If you are planning to buy a car from WeBuyCars, please make sure some of these conditions are met, and hopefully, WeBuyCars implement this from their side as well. • There needs to be more than just 5 litres of petrol / diesel in the vehicle. • The vehicle should not be driven just around the block. • You need to drive at 120 kms for at least 5 minutes (checking for engine noises) I am just glad that my 10 month ordeal is over and that you don’t have the same experience.
