I'm already regretting buying a car from you guys
My wife and I are newlyweds and we recently bought a Polo Bluemotion TDI 1.2 from WebuyCars in March 2021 from (Sales Consultant Julius). The Dekra Report stated that the car had only Engine leaks and the bank approved that before we receive the car it should be FULLY Serviced! From the day we purchased the car, we’ve had sleepless nights! The car has been leaking oil and water we cleaned the engine to clear the smell of the oil leaks but no luck! I booked in the car for diagnosis and apparently the Turbo needs to be repaired, along with the Water Pump, Wheel bearings the list goes on and on and mind you we’ve only had the car for 2 Months and the car is less than 70 000kms! I spoke to their Customer Agent (Shane Mobaye) who has been ruthless throughout the process, she got a quotation from the workshop that all these faults amount to R31 620 and that I need to pay part of the Money for a car that is practically new and has recently been serviced? The car hasn’t even exceeded 5000km within the 2 Months! 1stly According to the Consumer Protection’s Act I was supposed to be informed of every CRUTIAL! Information pertaining the car because making our decisions. 2ndly the legislation further endorses the issues of safety by providing for a mandatory warranty of six months which allows a consumer to return a product should it fail to PERFOM! Or gets faulty within the six months period after delivery to a consumer! I don’t care how much it costs to fix the car, I need it fixed!
Thank you for your feedback.
We Buy Cars understands the frustration of a vehicle breaking down and have thus been in contact with you to assist.
Our records show you have driven 7500km with the vehicle since delivery, we contacted you when you lodged a claim, taken the car to a workshop, and had it assessed. The warranty covered a portion and We Buy Cars paid out R11 620.01 for the remaining repairs. The remainder of the repairs required included a service, wheel bears, a/c regas, and an engine cover. These are wear or service items, considering the mileage driven We Buy Cars cannot be held liable for such according to Section 57 (2c) of the Consumer Protection Act.
Therefore we have fully comp**** with section 56 and you have exercised your right to repair. We, therefore, regard this matter as resolved. Please feel free to lodge a complaint with the Motor Industry Ombudsman by visiting www.miosa.co.za, this is a free and independent platform for public use.
