Horrible aftersales

I purchased a vehicle from We Buy Cars JHB South in November 2022. I really had a good experience with the salesman, he went out of his way to make the deal happen. Unfortunately the aftersales service was horrible. On 1 December after taking delivery of the vehicle, the "Service Soon" notification appeared on my cluster. This was really strange as I had to pay for the service of the vehicle before it was financed. I suspected that the service centre forgot to reset the service interval notification after the service. Unfortunately I was only in JHB for a few days so did not get the time to take it to the service centre in December as I had to fly to George. The vehicle was at our offices for the whole month and no one drove it.

In December I received a notification from their license department to go and do my own licensing in Mossel Bay as they don't have anyone there. In fact, there is a We Buy Cars that opened in George in November. I wasn't happy as I already paid for the licensing and registration on the deal. The F&I said I can do the registration and they will refund me. I did this and sent the all the documentation on 20 December 2022. I do regular follow ups but, no response received from anyone and no refund yet.

On 26 January 2023 I was back in JHB. While driving the "Service Soon" notification came on again and it felt like the vehicle went into 'limp mode'. I contacted the service centre and they said I can bring the vehicle in so they can have a look. While inspecting the logs and checking the vehicle, they realized that the turbo was faulty.

The quote to have it repaired, came to R17000. The extended warranty that I have only covers R10000. We have sent numerous notifications to We Buy Cars but no one is coming back to us. Unfortunately the salesman has moved to the PE branch now. He recommended that I also log a complaint on their site, which I did. They confirmed that they will get back to me in 48 hours. That was a week ago and still nothing. I have been without a car now for 2 weeks and no one can help me. I refuse to pay the difference to have the vehicle fixed and I insist that they refund me for the licensing.

Reviewer Update
After the service centre having the vehicle for more than 3 weeks, I finally received it back. I received the vehicle back on 6 March. On the morning of 15 March I was on my way to the work. Less than 1 kilometer from my house, the vehicle went into limp mode again. I have also noticed that there is smoke coming from under the bonnet from time to time. I again took the vehicle back to the service centre and they said that the vehicle now has an error for a faulty acceleration sensor and that there is oil by the gearbox now.

I logged another complaint on We Buy Cars website. I requested for the deal to be cancelled as I can't continue like this. I wanted to drive the vehicle to Mossel bay at the end of the month but have lost all trust in it. I spoke to x2 people that contacted me after the 2nd complaint I logged and explained to them that I want to cancel the deal. The main guy I dealt with made arrangements for me to return the vehicle on the 17th and sent me the form to complete at the dealership. He also requested that I take the Natis documents with so they can finalize everything with the bank, as it is a finance deal. The sales manager also took me through the process of how it will work when the deal is cancelled.

Since the 17th, I did not receive any feedback from anyone. Even after doing daily follow ups as I was already busy buying a new vehicle and needed this one cleared from my name. Today, on 27 March the same gentleman that made all the arrangements now notify my that the vehicle has been repaired and is ready for collection. This is not what we agreed on and I really don't know where to go from here as I don't want this vehicle back.

I have also still not received my refund for the licensing since December 2022.
