FORGED DEKRA REPORT/ MAJOR ENGINE ISSUES WHICH WERE NOT SPECIFIED

A horrific experience with a vehicle purchased from We Buy Cars. On the evening of March 23, 2023, I collected my vehicle, only to be met with a series of significant issues shortly thereafter. Upon driving the car, I noticed a tire pressure warning light on the odometer screen. After stopping at the nearest garage to inflate the tires, the warning light persisted. The following morning, I again filled the tires, but the warning remained. I took the vehicle to a Mini Cooper dealership later that day, where I was informed that the tire pressure warning could only be resolved via the navigation screen and that it posed a major risk, as I would not receive alerts for any tire-related issues. Additionally, I began hearing unusual noises from the front of the vehicle. When I attempted to raise my concerns with We Buy Cars Riverhorse, I found that the sales assistant, Aphelele, was no longer available. I spoke with other staff members at the We Buy Cars Riverhorse Valley branch when I went there physically, but my concerns were not adequately addressed as they told me to wait for the manager to come back from leave. After several visits I was able to get a hold of Navin one of the managers, I was eventually directed to take the car to a dealership named PPP recommended by We Buy Cars. Due to warranty complications, it took over two months for my vehicle to be repaired. I expressed my frustration through email, emphasizing the unacceptability of being without the car for such an extended period while still making monthly payments. Even after receiving the car back in August, the same noises returned, and I was informed by one of the employees’ at PPP when I kept going there to check up on the car that the vehicle had previously been flagged for significant problems prior I bought it and that major repairs were done on the vehicle shortly before I purchased it. Most recently, a diagnostic from a dealership specializing in SMG cars revealed that an engine overhaul is necessary, with a repair quotation of R60,083. My warranty only has R14,000 left due to the engine problems that this car had since I got it, leaving a substantial shortfall that I cannot afford. I feel as though I have been taken advantage of throughout this process, particularly as a young woman navigating these challenges. Moreover, the lack of transparency regarding the vehicle's condition at the time of sale is deeply concerning. The major issues were not disclosed in the Dekra report, and had I known, I would not have proceeded with the purchase. This situation has caused me significant distress, exacerbated by my current pregnancy and resulting health complications.

The ongoing repairs, coupled with the financial burden of insurance and other related expenses for a vehicle that is rarely in my possession, are unsustainable on my end as I am finding it difficult to make ends meet because of the excess costs. I also worry about potential storage costs accruing at the repair center. Its been 4 months without the car being with me because I cannot cough up 60K, when I expressed the series of problems about the car to the Managers as a first time car buyer I was never given an opportunity to return the car I was told to take it to PPP.
