Financed a “Gold Standard” Vehicle with LEAKING GEARBOX and COLAPSED BEARINGS
I purchased a vehicle from WeBuyCars in February 2025, advertised as an A-Rated, Gold Standard car. Within hours of collecting it, I noticed an oil leak which was dismissed by the salesperson. Days later, a mechanic confirmed serious gearbox failure, and further inspection revealed multiple roadworthiness issues—all missed by both the DEKRA report and COR testing done before handover.
Since then, the car has stood unusable (Only 500km since collection) while I’ve paid instalments, insurance, and other costs. Attempts to resolve this have been met with delayed responses, misleading documents (including a mileage discrepancy of nearly 50,000 km!), and a push for refund instead of accountability. Also wanting to try use my warranty to fix the issue.
I opened a case with MIOSA, and I am still waiting for justice (May 29th 2025) because what I got was a vehicle that should never have passed any roadworthy test.

But you are not looking into anything, WBC is forcing a refund because they say its uneconomical to fix the collapsed gearbox. They want to use my warranty claiming ware and tare. I've done +-****m since collection on 14 Feb 2025 with a reconed gearbox that was done 1533km ago according to the service book and invoices they left in the vehicle. Gear oil is black with metal filings in it, this can only mean its not the same gearbox it was Dekra with.
