False Hope

On Wednesday (1 September) Grant, from the Durban branch, came to inspect our car. He made us an offer and after discussing it with my husband, we agreed on selling the car.

I contacted Grant to find out what paperwork was needed, which email address to send it to and the process thereafter.

My husband emailed the documents on Thursday, and Grant didn't acknowledge receipt. So once again I contacted him to find out if all was in order. He said he'd get back to me shortly and when he didn't, I messaged him again. His tagline was that he'd call me in 10 minutes. I had to follow up constantly.

On Friday around midday, I messaged to ask if all was in order and by the afternoon, he hadn't rep****. I called the call center and spoke to Selo, who said that he'd bring it up with Grant's manager and that someone would call me by 6pm that day. I'm still waiting.

Shortly after, Grant messaged to say that he still needed to confirm everything.

There hasn't been any word from him or anyone else at We Buy Cars. I emailed them a complaint, but haven't heard anything from them either.

Late this afternoon, I sent Grant a message and emailed We Buy Cars again, to say that due to the lack of communication and disappointment in the company, I don't want to sell.

One would think that they'd try and remedy the situation, but as seems the norm, no one has responded.

It all seemed too good to be true, when viewing their website and seeing empty promises of hassle free sales. Don't be deceived by them.
