Extremely poor offer ranges

I am very surprised how this company is doing business. It seems that they calculate their offer ranges to be far lower than that what Transunion recommend (and they don't even think about considering vehicle extra's).

When confronted with the Transunion facts they simply state that they don't want to do business with you anymore.

I guess they are chasing R30k+ profits on the resale of your car.

Hallo

To my knowledge, Webuycars is the single biggest purchaser of used vehicles in South Africa.

We have been working in this industry for longer than 18 years.

We take immense pride in what we do every day.

We were the very first company in South Africa, beating many other prominent countries to it as well, to offer a Professional Dedicated Car-Buying Service, who serve you where you are.

Today it is a worldwide phenomenon.

We serve a record number of people every month, and we are growing this business every month.

We started out with a stock of two vehicles, 18 years ago, and we have grown this business of Buying and Selling vehicles with our own money to a business that has had virtually no debt ever and carries stock of almost a thousand vehicles, with a record turnover time.

The prices we offer is based on our perception of supply and demand, we need to sell just as fast as we buy, otherwise, we are going to run into problems with space and cash-flow.

We have an honest and sincere empathy with people who do not understand the dynamics of this business, all we can say is that we are sorry we fell short of your expectations.

It is a free market, you are free to ask whatever you want on your car, I am free to make you an offer, and you are free to refuse and move on and sell to the highest bidder.

As far as the Transunion Book Values are concerned, I suggest you read the introduction in the beginning of the book and the "How To" guide in the front of the book so you may also understand the context and scope of these values.

As we say in the Trade, it is not the book that buys the car, it is us.

Please feel free to visit www dot webuycars dotcoza if you need to sell your car, and do have a look at www dot wesellcars dotcoza, our selling devission.

Dirk

Goeie Dag Stefan,

Groete
Rudi Badenhorst

Goeie dag Rudi,

Groete
Stefan

Goeie Dag Stefan,

I am a bit surprised with WEBUYCARS justification for this type of reasoning. It is beyond me how someone can compare a brands highest standard spec old model with the brands almost worst spec new model (and ignore any extras), and while doing so use a very incorrect price.

From a official quotation from Chevrolet the Utility 1.4 AC costs: R 163 099.00, and with equivalent extras : R 202 811.60

All that make sense to me (and this is only my conclusion) is intentional deception from WEBUYCARS to cover up bad business practices.

I will never demand the highest possible price, just that WEBUYCARS at least give an offer that is very loosely close to a reasonable offer, not the pathetic R115k - R120K offer.

I am extremely surprised what the equivalent new Chevrolet utility cost (I might even not sell my car anymore). I would leave correct comparison data here in case there are other people reading this whom like to think for themselves:

OLD Chevrolet Utility 1.8 Sport :
R 145 000 (Transunion)
+ R 5 000 (Canopy)
+ R 2 000 (Service Plan/Warranty)
+ R 3 000 (Other Extras)

= R 155 000

NEW Chevrolet Utility 1.8 Sport (Official Quotation from dealer) :
R 226 448 (Vehicle)
+ R 17 100 (Canopy)
+ R 14 871 (5 Year 90 000km Service Plan)
+ R 3 990 (Tow bar)
+ R 3 750 (On The road charges)
= R 266 159

That is a whopping R 100k+ difference between the old and new model.
(As a buyer, this is a HUGE difference when you start to think about monthly payments, interest, insurance etc.)

As was said previously anyone can choose if they want to do business or not, just don't try to disguise a bad offer and try to justify it.

Rudi

The bottom line is, you can't get out of this situation with the same line of thinking that got you into it in the first place.

It is an open and free market, and if you don't like us you are free to move on.

But the way I look at it, you still sit with the bakkie.

You need a buyer.

And standing between you and a buyer is your intellectual self-rationalisation.

And we are still here if you would allow us to buy it off you.

It is what we do every day, about 80, sometimes more than 100 times a day.

Dirk
