Dishonest service and unresponsive feedback from WeBuyCars
Good day.
I have sold my Audi A3 1.0 TFSI to WeBuyCars Pietermaritzburg but I dropped of the vehicle at WeBuyCars Springfield Park.
At the time of the vehicle inspection and the drop off of the vehicle, the vehicle was still licenced as at 27 June 2023. The licence on the vehicle expires on 30 June 2023.
For the first time during the drop off the vehicle, I was informed that even though my vehicle licence is still valid at the time I sold my vehicle, I had to be charged a R600 licence fee and a R200 admin fee.
I find this absolutely unacceptable since at the time of the sale, the vehicle was licenced and I feel that I shouldn’t be liable for the vehicle licence for the upcoming 12 months. And in addition to this, I was charged a R200 admin fee.
In addition to that , I was charged a R400 settlement fee since I was told that this is standard procedure since WBC does a fast payment to the bank and they need to retrieve the logbook.
I feel that the above is daylight ******* and I find this unacceptable. I am actually quite disturbed about this. When someone bought my car, they would be charged a licence fee again so there is a duplication of charges. Me, being the seller, should not be liable for the licence fees for the upcoming 12 months since I am not the owner of the vehicle from 27 June 2023. WeBuyCars is and should therefore be liable for the licencing costs which they would then recover from the buyer of my car.
I was not informed of this by the salesman Stanton. Secondly this is a duplicate charge by weBuyCars as one car would be licenced twice.
The R400 admin fee is absolutely ridiculous as well. I cannot believe that WeBuyCars charged me R400 to pay the bank for my vehicle which I sold and just to retrieve the logbook.
Under normal circumstances, this is administration for WeBuyCars to absorb and they will recover these costs from the buyer since they would charge the buyer an admin fee.
I asked for the full R1200 refunded to me , being the R600 licencing, R200 admin fee and R400 settlement fee for the pain and suffering and my absolutely ********** experience with WeBuyCars.
I was advised that management cannot refund this to me since it is standard charges and that they advised me of these charges before signing of the contract. They only advised me of this when I dropped off the vehicle and I felt like I was pushed into a corner.
Please reconsider selling your car to WeBuyCars. It was an absolutely horrible experience for me and no seller should have to go through that.
I posted a review and reached out to the Facebook team. Still no response. It’s evident that poor service continues
