DISGUSTING SERVICE
Unfortunately I recently (and still do) received the WORST service from We buy Cars, The Dome. On the 16th of April 2023 my husband and I attended the Dome where I found a car that I liked. I called a salesperson who said he’ll go and get the keys. I waited and waited and waited - yet no salesperson with a key. Eventually I went and looked for him. Found him busy with another client. When I asked him why he hasn’t come back yet his response was that he asked another guy to assist me. Right okay. Found the other salesperson chatting away - in no hurry to get the keys. I asked him why he was only asking for the keys now? His response – “I went and looked for you at the car and you weren’t there”. I told him that is BS as I was there THE WHOLE TIME. He answered in an extremely rude manner “MA’AM, YOU WEREN’T THERE”. It was then that I insisted that I don’t want him as my salesperson and approached Mohammed to assist me. We went through the whole process, and I paid my R 5000 holding deposit. This holding deposit is only valid for 72hours. I also immediately contacted their buying division so that they can take a look at my car, as the deposit that I wanted to pay was directly linked to how much I would get for my car (I informed Mohammed of this). The first buyer (Mathew) could not assist as I work in Sandton and he is in the West Rand. Fair. So In the meantime my baby is admitted to hospital and I asked my husband to take over the car buying story. So he contacts Armand (who was my designated buyer in the West Rand). Armand doesn’t even have the courtesy to respond. Next thing I receive a call from We buy cars with the offer? but obviously the deposit wasn’t considered so the monthly repayment is quite high. I explain to the lady that nobody has taken a look at my car and that needs to happen so that I can tell them how much is my deposit. Of course, by this point it’s quite urgent as the car is only reserved for 72 hours. Her response was that there isn’t anything she can do about that but she’ll ask Mohammed to give me a call. To this day I am still waiting for that call. On Monday 24 April I inform Mohammed that I’m cancelling and for We buy cars to repay my holding deposit. Of course I don’t get a response. I ask again the next day and his answer is that he has all my details and it will be paid back in a day or two. And then silence. When I try to call or whatsapp Mohammed he doesn’t answer or doesn’t respond. Eventually on the 4th of May I get a manager’s number – Dawie. Dawie promises to follow up. The only feedback from Dawie is that he’ll speak to Mohammed and I should give him a call. Of course, he doesn’t answer when I call. Calling the customer service number is an absolutely useless exercise. I spoke to two ladies (both of whom were INCREDIBLY rude), and their solution to my problem is to either put me through to Mohammed (which we all know means nothing) or that I should lodge a complaint so that they can respond. They refuse to give me a manager’s number or the payments department’s number. It is now the 11th of May and I have not received a cent of MY money. And a simple follow up with the status of the repayment simply isn’t possible. I cannot comprehend how this type of service is acceptable for such a massive organisation. And the fact that you cannot speak to ANYONE is disgusting. What happened to transparency?
