Buyer Took My Car For A Joy Ride.

I recently requested for a buyer from We Buy Cars to come and have a look at my BMW 320d. The gentlemen came out to have a look at the vehicle and without even stepping out of his car, claims that the vehicle was fully resprayed. This is not a fact and was just used as a bargaining tool. The buyer came with the impression that I am clueless about vehicles. He conducted his inspection and took the car for a nice joy ride, testing the limits of the vehicle as it was fully tuned. He wasted approx 2 hours of my time, only for me to follow up the next day asking if I will be receiving an offer from him. To my surprise, he mentions on the whatsapp message that the engine on the vehicle has a knock and they will not be interested in buying the car. Firstly, if an engine had a knock, you would hear it on idle at start up. Why do you take the vehicle for a joy ride if you already knew that you would not be making an offer?

I have all the details of the gentleman but will not publish it here. My plea to We Buy Cars buyers, do not waste peoples time and take their vehicle for a joy ride if you already know that you will not be purchasing the car.
