Beware of WEBUYCARS - Terrible Company
I purchased a vehicle from WeBuyCars for R306,000.00 and subsequently spent R25,000.00 on servicing, which included fitting a bumper reflector and wheel arch trim. However, WeBuyCars misrepresented the vehicle's condition and failed to disclose that it had been involved in a serious accident. Although their Dekra report highlighted some faults, which I accepted, I specifically asked about any accident damage or history before finalizing the purchase. The salesperson assured me there was none. To be certain, I requested that WeBuyCars' own service provider inspect the car before I made the purchase. Their service provider cleared the vehicle, confirming it was free of accident damage and that the disclosed issues had been addressed.
However, after purchasing the car, I sent it for a full service, including a cam belt replacement and preparation for a Certificate of Roadworthiness (COR). The service agent reported that the car had been involved in significant front and rear accidents and had been poorly rebuilt. This crucial information had been withheld from me at the time of purchase, constituting a clear case of misrepresentation.
Upon discovering this, I immediately lodged a complaint with WeBuyCars, requesting that they take the vehicle back due to their failure to disclose the car's prior accident damage. Unfortunately, they strung me along for a week, only to reject my complaint without any discussion. Their communication has been almost entirely limited to email, making it impossible to have a direct conversation about the issue. They ignored the details I provided, including the non-disclosure of the accident damage.
When I called to follow up, I was informed, after 14 attempts, that my case had been closed without any resolution. I also attempted to contact the Sales Manager, James Nka, multiple times, leaving messages, but received no response. Every time I called, I was told he was unavailable. I called for the customer service managers, Shane Bates and Hannes Boa. they would not take calls and are constantly unavailable.
This behavior is not only ********* but also violates consumer protection laws, particularly those concerning the non-disclosure of significant defects and accident history. WeBuyCars has disregarded the legal requirement to provide accurate and honest information about the vehicle's condition. They claimed to have referred the matter to MOISA without consulting me, discussing the issue, or considering the service agent's report and the salesperson's admission of not disclosing the vehicle's accident history.
The actions of WeBuyCars are a blatant disregard for consumer rights, demonstrating a lack of transparency and accountability in their business practices.
I suggest to anyone intenting to purchase a car from this compnay WEBUYCARS, not to do so. Their cars seem too good to be true and it is!!!! they are dishonest in their after-sales service, especially in dealing with a complaint. They refuse to even speak to you whilst you have a complaint.
I have now resorted to legal action and the only alternative to finding a resolve. Upon further research, I found that there numerous similar instances of customers taking them to court and winning against their dishonesty.
WEBUYCARS are the most dishonest and most unfair business you can experience.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We are busy investigating the matter and will provide you with feedback as soon as possible.

In the meanwhile I asked WeBuyCars to come and evaluate the car to buy it back. Guess what!? They won’t buy it back because it’s not worthy of purchase. I recorded the evaluator from WeBuyCars. He called his manager after uploading the info and his manager told him (and I was listening to the call) that he won’t buy the car. He said he knows the car and won’t want it back — this is the same car they sold me 10 days earlier.
So if they won’t buy it back, they know they are dishonest and cheated me on the car sale with dishonesty! If they felt they were confident they were fair and transparent, they would readily buy it back at least at the price I paid since I improved the car buy servicing it and fixing some of the faults at great expense
This company is *****ulent and dishonest and could not care about how they cheat people out of their hard earned cash!!!!
Let’s see if they even have the smallest ounce of principle to get back to me.
