Bad service

I bought an Audi A4 1.8T last week Thursday from we buy cars. The salesmen was grate in helping Malan van de ven and we took the car on a test drive. All was great with the car it only needed a oil sensor so we did the deal. This morning one week later on my way to work the battery light came on and the car started to make a noise so I took it in to check. I now need to change the alternator and put a new oil sensors ×2 , service the turbo and gearbox. So far the quote is 37k and going up. How is this possible!!! I paid 72k for this car and was advised all was in order. I whatsapped the salesman that sold me the car and tried calling him and got no response. How do they sell cars for so hight prices and can't assist when there is problems after a week. Please can someone assist with this!!

Good day. I've booked the car in to have the alternator and sensors fixed. This comes to R4500 and I am going to pay for it ,however I expect a refund for this amount. I've also contacted the CPA and you will have to fix the gearbox and turdo at your cost .THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT backs our side as we are in the 6 months and I only have the car for 7 days by law and requests that We Sell Cars adhere to this law. The Consumer Protection Act applies to every transaction occurring within the Republic of South Africa, and to all goods or services that are supp**** or performed. One of the consumer rights is the "Right to Fair service of goods .Your right to return goods and seek redress for unsatisfactory services - Consumers have the right to return unsafe or defective goods and request a full refund for such goods, provided this is done within a reasonable period, as I said I only have this car for a week . Consumers are entitled to the following, when entering into agreements/contracts with suppliers: High-quality services, which consumers are entitled to expect; and use, delivery or installation of goods that are free of defects and of a quality that persons are generally entitled to expect, if any such goods are required for performance of the services. Suppliers are required to remedy any defects in the quality of services performed or goods supp****; or refund the consumers a reasonable portion of the price paid for the services performed and goods supp****, in the event of these being sub-standard. Your right to safe, good quality goods - Consumers are entitled to receive goods or services that are of good quality, in good working order and free of any defects. Therefore, In terms of the Consumer Protection Act a Consumer may request/ be entitled to: a refund; return purchased goods; be entitled to have goods repaired; and/or have the goods replaced. Imp**** Warranty of quality - In terms of s56 (read with s55) of the CPA, all goods sold to a consumer are sold with an imp**** warranty of quality, that cannot be contracted out of or revoked. The warranty gives the consumer the right to receive goods that: - are reasonably suitable for the purpose that they are intended to be used for, - are of good quality, free of defects and in good working order, and - will be durable and usable for a reasonable period of time. Within 6 months after the delivery of any goods to a Consumer, the Consumer may return the goods to the Company, without penalty and at the Company’s risk and expense, if the goods fail to satisfy the requirements and standards contemplated above and the Company must, at the direction of the Consumer, either: - repair or replace the Failed, Unsafe or Defective goods; or - refund to the Consumer the price paid by the Consumer, for the goods. If the Company repairs any particular goods or any component of any such goods, and within 3 months after that repair, the Failure, Defect or Unsafe feature has not been remedied, or a further Failure, Defect or Unsafe feature is discovered, the Company must: - replace the goods; or - refund to the Consumer for the price paid by the Consumer for the goods. Kind regards.

Hi Benedict,

As you are aware, our Branch Manager agreed to meet with you on Monday. He advised that he received an SMS from you canceling the meeting as you were running late and wouldn’t be able to attend.

He advised that he can’t seem to get a hold of you, and will continue trying until the matter is resolved.

Regards,
